As an Email Marketing Manager, you will plan and manage high-volume, segmented email marketing campaigns. The Email Marketing Manager partners with strategists, account executives, copywriters, designers, and developers to manage email marketing content, scheduling, and email deliverability across multiple marketing automation and ESP platforms. The ideal candidate will be proactive with a strong attention to detail, possess analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional multi-tasking and prioritization skills.

Your Impact:

  • Oversee the implementation of multiple client email marketing programs and collaborates with cross-functional team members to strategize, build, and QA email campaigns from concept to deployment.
  • Manage the list segmentation process for email campaign deployment, including identifying standard list segments, establishing baseline counts for measuring growth, and monitoring real-time analytics.
  • Create annual email marketing plans, calendaring, send cadences and frequency, and testing matrixes.
  • Analyze overall email performance, makes recommendations to optimize email campaigns in real-time and provides actionable insight for ongoing data-led optimization.
  • Create data extensions, data filters, suppression lists, master suppression lists, and attribute groups for multiple clients within various ESPs.
  • Design and develop automated campaigns using MAPs to send drip emails based on data and/or a prospects behavior.
  • Partner with data specialists to provide monthly analysis and reporting of campaign performance and overall email program.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to establish email marketing program and campaign scope, ensuring deliverables stay within statements of work.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and provide solutions for potential ESP issues related to rate-limiting, IP blacklisting, and spam traps.
  • Manage, train, and mentor Email Marketing Specialist.
  • Contribute to the team's expertise through research of new digital platforms, tools, strategies, and tactics to drive success.
  • Stay up to date on the latest email marketing and platform standards, technologies, best practices, and developments.
  • Recommend, learn, and master new ESP and MAP platforms, ultimately serving as the point of contact, subject matter expert, and trainer as needed.

Your Profile:

  • 4+ years of email marketing experience with an advertising agency, successfully managing the production of digital projects such as emails, landing pages, integrated campaigns, and websites.
  • Experience with Marketing Automation Platforms (Marketo, HubSpot).
  • Experience with Email Service Provider Platforms (Luminate, Engaging Networks, Emma, Campaign Monitor, Salesforce Marketing Cloud).
  • Experience creating annual email marketing plans, schedules, send cadences and testing matrixes.
  • Familiarity with the following is a plus:
    • Traffic analysis tools, such as Google Analytics.
    • CMS platforms (WordPress, Drupal)
    • Fundraising platforms (Qgiv, Luminate, Raise Donors, Fundraise Up, Classy)
    • CRM platforms (Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, Bloomerang, Donor Perfect)
    • Web languages (HTML, CSS, Java Script, XML)
  • Experience with non-profit email marketing is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the technical and regulatory side of email marketing including IP & domain reputation, CANSPAM and GDPR.
  • Ability to understand and analyze email metrics including deliverability, opens, clicks and conversions.
  • Understanding of influences affecting email deliverability and inbox placement.
  • Familiarity with digital direct response fundraising metrics and direct marketing strategy.
  • Ability to handle multiple complex projects simultaneously; a resourceful self-starter who can take initiative and follow through on projects in a deadline-driven environment.
