What does an email marketing program manager do?

An Email Marketing Program Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing email marketing campaigns to engage customers and drive business goals. They develop strategies, manage email lists, segment audiences, create content, and analyze campaign performance. Their role often involves collaborating with creative, sales, and analytics teams to ensure consistent messaging and effective targeting. Additionally, they monitor key metrics like open rates, click-through rates, and conversions to refine future campaigns.

What are some typical challenges an email marketing program manager faces when coordinating campaigns across multiple departments?

Email Marketing Program Managers often collaborate with creative, product, and analytics teams to launch successful campaigns. A common challenge is aligning timelines and priorities across these groups, especially when last-minute changes or approvals are needed. Balancing strategic planning with fast-paced execution requires strong communication and organizational skills. Building effective relationships and setting clear expectations with stakeholders can greatly help in overcoming these hurdles.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an email marketing program manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Email Marketing Program Manager, you need expertise in campaign strategy, segmentation, analytics, and a strong understanding of email marketing best practices, usually supported by a degree in marketing or a related field. Familiarity with email marketing platforms like Mailchimp or Salesforce Marketing Cloud, as well as certifications such as HubSpot Email Marketing, are typically required. Strong project management, attention to detail, and effective communication skills help you coordinate cross-functional teams and optimize campaigns. These skills are essential for driving engagement, ensuring deliverability, and maximizing ROI from email marketing initiatives.

Job description

Company Description

Redzone, the Connected Workforce business unit within QAD | Redzone, helps manufacturers make more products for less while greatly improving the employee experience. While there is a lot of hype around digital transformation, the factory of the future, and Industry 4.0, the focus has been on the equipment and technology - not the people. At Redzone, we are all about the people, what we call "the connected workforce."

We make frontline teams more engaged and more productive so their lives improve while contributing to positive business outcomes. We do this by combining exceptional software and world-class coaching, giving our customers an average productivity increase of 26% in 90 days. Redzone brings together Production, Maintenance, and Quality teams, improving the communications between those teams to resolve issues and increase output. Decision-making happens on the shop floor by the people doing the work, in real time, for immediate impact and a better overall employee experience.

With an AI powered platform, nearly 2000 plants and over 500,000 users, Redzone is changing the way people work - one plant at a time.

Job Description

Redzone is hiring an Email Marketing Manager to build and run our email programs and nurtures that support every stage of the buyer's journey. You will own the email channel: strategy, automation, list health, and reporting. The expectation is that what you build moves the pipeline needle.

That means running lead gen campaigns, supporting product launches and events, staying in front of distributor contacts, and getting technical content in front of the engineers and procurement managers who actually influence deals. These are long sales cycles, and email is one of the few channels that can work across all of them.

You'll work closely with BDR, Sales, Digital Marketing, and Marketing Ops on lead handoff and pipeline goals, and coordinate with the Paid Media team to build nurture tracks for leads coming in from paid and events.

This position is Full-Time, Exempt, Remote-based in the United States, and requires up to 10% travel. Visa Sponsorship is not available.

What You'll Own

  • Email Campaign Strategy: Plan and execute email workflows, newsletters, and drip campaigns built for long B2B sales cycles. You run the calendar - from concept through send and results.
  • List Segmentation & Nurture: Build and maintain segments by industry, persona, purchase history, and where someone is in the funnel. Different messages for engineers, procurement teams, and distributors - not one blast to everyone.
  • Content, Design & Testing: Write copy that makes technical products and updates actually readable. Work with designers on layout and templates. Run A/B tests regularly and use what you learn.
  • Analytics & Compliance: Report on open rates, click rates, and pipeline impact. Know the CAN-SPAM and GDPR rules and keep the list clean and compliant.
  • AI & Event Support: Use AI tools where they actually help - personalization, drafting copy, segmentation, reporting. Own the email side of our major tradeshows (Pack Expo, Champions of Manufacturing) and make sure event leads don't go cold.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years in B2B email marketing or demand gen. Experience in manufacturing, industrial tech, or any sector with a long, complicated sales cycle is a plus.
  • You've actually built campaigns, not just managed vendors who built them. Segmentation, nurture flows, and list management should all feel familiar.
  • Hands-on experience with Marketo, HubSpot, or a comparable platform.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce and intent data (6Sense/Demandbase).
  • Clear understanding of how AI can be applied to marketing workflows - personalization, content generation, and analytics.
  • Self-starter who builds as much as they manage in a lean environment.
Additional Information

Compensation Package:

  • Base pay range:  $120,000 - $130,000 USD Annual (12 Months)
  • Placement within our pay range will vary based on knowledge, skills, experience, and market location variations as well as internal peer equity
  • This position may be eligible for additional performance incentives
  • U.S. benefits package includes medical, dental and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan with company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, paid-time off, parental leave, flexible spending accounts and employee assistance program
