About the Role

We're looking for a strategic and results-driven leader to join our team as City Operations Manager. In this role, you will serve as the primary onsite operational leader for assigned electric vehicle fleet management programs and be accountable for overall depot performance, strategic execution, client partnership, and operational excellence. This role provides direct leadership to Operations Supervisors and Leads, ensures compliance with global process standards, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and partners closely with client leadership. The City Operations Manager plays a critical role in aligning field execution with corporate and client objectives.

What You'll Do

  • Provide overall leadership and accountability for daily electric vehicle multi-site operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient execution of autonomous vehicle operations.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with corporate and client objectives.
  • Lead and mentor Operations Supervisors and Leads; build succession plans and develop high-performing leadership teams.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across shifts and departments to ensure seamless 24/7 operations.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs related to safety, productivity, quality, and cost control, and analyze performance metrics to identify trends and implement improvements.
  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and emergency response procedures.
  • Represent the organization in high-level client meetings, providing executive-level reporting on performance, risks, and improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with client dispatch and operations leadership to optimize mission assignment and field operations.
  • Oversee scheduling, workforce planning, resource allocation, and consistent execution of operational processes.
  • Lead response efforts for service disruptions, incidents, and operational challenges while ensuring proper documentation and follow-up.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university required.
  • 5-7+ years of progressive operations leadership experience, including managing supervisors.
  • Strong strategic thinking and operational planning capabilities.
  • Proven leadership and people development skills.
  • Advanced analytical skills with ability to interpret metrics and drive results.
  • Ability to work onsite in San Diego, CA - 5 days/week.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Operations Management, Business, or related field strongly preferred.
  • Experience in transportation, mobility services, rental fleet operations, logistics, or related operations.
  • Experience leading 24/7 operations and large, multi-location teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence executive-level stakeholders.
  • Strong decision-making skills in high-pressure environments.
  • Proficiency with reporting systems and operational software.

Location: San Diego, CA

The hiring base salary range for this position is $101,900 - $140,140 annually. Actual compensation within this range will be dependent upon the individual's knowledge, skills, experience, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. Please note that the disclosed salary range is solely for candidates hired to perform work within this geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
