Job description

The Fleet Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving Valcourt's enterprise fleet program across all operating companies. This position provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for approximately 900 fleet assets supporting 44+ branch locations throughout North America.

The Fleet Manager serves as the primary liaison between Valcourt, Element Fleet Management, Samsara, OEMs, upfitters, maintenance vendors, fuel providers, insurance partners, and internal business leaders. The role owns the complete vehicle lifecycle—from acquisition through disposal—while driving safety, compliance, operational efficiency, and total cost of ownership.

Success in this role requires a strategic leader capable of building enterprise fleet policies while also executing the daily operational activities necessary to support the field.


Key Responsibilities

Fleet Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute Valcourt's enterprise fleet strategy.
  • Align fleet initiatives with company operational and financial objectives.
  • Establish fleet KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Develop fleet policies and governance standards.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the fleet program.
  • Serve as the company's subject matter expert on fleet operations.
  • Present fleet performance to executive leadership.

Vehicle Lifecycle Management

Manage the complete lifecycle of company vehicles including:

Qualifications

Required

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Advanced Excel and data analytics proficiency
  • Experience with fleet management software
