Job Description Senior Electrical Engineer - Birmingham, AL Overview: We exist to make better buildings faster. We're made up of smart architects, engineers, manufacturers, programmers, and other generalists that are united by the notion that to make great things intelligently is a worthy pursuit.

We are seeking a talented and energetic Electrical Engineer to join our design group. Job description: The Senior Electrical engineer is responsible for the execution of electrical system designs on a variety of building programs, under the leadership of the MEP design leadership. They work with the design, manufacturing, and construction team to produce smart electrical system designs for offsite fabricated projects.

Responsibilities/ Duties: Research, design, detail, and support installation of facility Electrical systems to meet client's requirements. Communicate with customers and partners to understand project requirements, goals, design objectives, and operational criteria to develop new system designs. Work with a cross disciplinary team to produce electrical system designs optimized for the DMC method.

Analyze Electrical systems to create solutions that optimize building performance and safety. This includes overcurrent device selective coordination, arc flash hazard, illumination, and energy performance analyses. Evaluate cost and feasibility of implementation of new facility Electrical systems.

Review design drawings & specifications produced by other team members under their responsible charge according to required code regulations and quality criteria. Assist in the management of design modeling activities to ensure compliance to the project schedule. Work with manufacturing and construction team(s) to improve quality and efficient flow.

Support project leader to coordinate efforts of personnel during all phases. Required Job Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering and more than Eight (8) years of experience in facility Electrical engineering design Familiarity with design standards and regulations for electrical systems, e.g. National Electrical Code, Healthcare Facilities Code (NFPA 99), etc

Professional Engineering license Desire to take part in changing the construction industry Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Punctual and able to meet deadlines Excellent oral and written communication skills Preferred: Experience with the design of healthcare facilities Capability with 3D Modeling programs, especially Revit, as well as AutoCAD, CADMEP and understanding of Virtual design and construction (VDC) workflows Demonstrated capability with electrical system analysis software e.g. EasyPower, ETAP, or SKM. Demonstrated leadership of a team comprised of junior engineers and detailers/modeling technicians
