Job description

Location: Oklahoma City, OK Salary: $50.00 USD Hourly - $80.00 USD Hourly Description: Our client is currently seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Design Engineer to support the development of advanced electronic products and systems. This role involves leading design efforts, managing requirements, collaborating with suppliers, and supporting the full product lifecycle-from concept through certification and delivery.
This job will have the following responsibilities:
  • Analyze customer and system requirements to develop architectural approaches and detailed specifications for electronic systems.
  • Design and validate complex electrical and electronic solutions, including circuit card assemblies and box-level assemblies.
  • Lead the development of high-level and detailed designs that meet performance, cost, and schedule requirements.
  • Track and report technical performance metrics to ensure compliance with system requirements.
  • Support supplier management with technical evaluations, make/buy recommendations, and design coordination.
  • Plan and execute research projects to explore emerging technologies and future product concepts.
  • Develop and implement automated test equipment to support system validation and aircraft testing.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Support project management by generating bids, tracking status, and contributing to work statements, budgets, and schedules.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, engineering physics, or physics.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience translating requirements into system architecture and hardware/software design.
  • Experience with DOORS or similar requirements management tools.
  • Prior experience in the defense or aerospace industry.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of related work experience.
  • ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (Master's/PhD) in Electrical Engineering.
  • Active U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Experience with digital signal processing and circuit design, including:
    • Embedded processors
    • High-end and low-power FPGAs
    • SOC FPGAs and CPLDs
    • Power sequencing and management
    • Standard communication and storage protocols
  • Familiarity with tools such as LTSpice, PSPICE, MathCAD, AutoCAD, System Vision, and Mentor Graphics (DX Designer, Expedition).
  • Experience with supplier design coordination, fault isolation, and test planning.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills with experience delivering technical presentations.
