Purpose
This position reports directly to our Area Manager, Electric Operations. Responsible for the supervision and scheduling of construction work in the of the Electric Operations group while assisting in restoration efforts, construction standards, environmental and safety practices. This position is also responsible for promoting, training, and execution of various corporate initiatives.
Accountabilities
  • Coordinate the scheduling of line operations construction and coordination between various line design departments, as well as investigations into customer issues and complaints.
  • Monitor productivity and direct Company personnel and contractors on construction, maintenance, and daily operations.
  • Coordinate and schedule outages with Engineering, System Dispatch, and customers for planned projects and repairs.
  • Respond to regular and off-hour emergency outages by working with Dispatch Control when required; take appropriate steps to restore equipment and power in a timely manner.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
  • Schedule, coordinate and/or conduct a variety of training sessions including safety, environmental, new work practices, and new equipment.
  • Enforce labor agreements, resolve differences at the department level, and administer Company policies.
  • Fill in as required to perform Line, Substation or Meter Department supervisory roles. • Enforce Clearance & Control Rules and act as local control authority as required.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience
  • Electric utility experience required
  • Prior supervisory/crew leader experience preferred
  • Flexible with working off-hours and the ability to travel outside the Division for emergency assignments and work other shifts as necessary to meet business needs required.
  • Electrical utility experience preferred such as knowledge of overhead, underground, substation construction and metering.
  • Construction knowledge with familiarity of all types of construction equipment and demonstrate good electrical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Thorough knowledge of all rules related to underground and overhead line construction including OSHA 1910.269 required.
  • Ability to accurately interpret maps, specification sheets, prints, schematics, diagrams and instructional information to construct, maintain and troubleshoot effectively.
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) required.
