Weekend Day Shift, Saturday - Monday, 6:00am - 6:00pm

As the EHS Associate Specialist, you will be responsible for practicing safe working techniques, creating training programs and reinforcing the safety policies, guidelines and procedures as set by regulatory agencies and GXO. What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Provide strategic assistance to ensure compliance with EPA Waste Regulations, and any other associated regulations
  • Collaborate with site and corporate management to mitigate any identified risks or possible regulatory changes
  • Update and maintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) binders and databases
  • Arrange environmental waste pickups and maintain records
  • Create professional and effective procedure materials and training presentations
  • Conduct safety audits of health and safety programs, procedures and processes, including but not limited to the Safety Training Observation Program (STOP) and Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) process
  • Investigate accidents or incidents to discover root causes and recommend solutions, improvement opportunities or preventive measures

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of related work or military experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910
  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001:2015
  • General knowledge of laws, regulations and ordinances governing hazardous materials, HAZMAT storage and emergency response procedures

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Bachelor's degree in a safety-related field
  • CPR, AED and First Aid certificates
  • 3 years of experience coordinating, implementing and/or executing policies and procedures in a warehouse environment
  • Availability to work flexible shifts, including days, nights and/or weekends 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present clean, organized and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience
  • The self-motivation to work well with minimal supervision or in a team environment
  • Solid research skills
