Job description

Amentum is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Operations Manager to join our team in McLean, VA. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who thrives at the intersection of operational execution and strategic program support.

As a key member of the Program Management Office (PMO), the Operations Manager will collaborate closely with senior leadership and functional managers to ensure program alignment, enhance performance visibility, and drive successful delivery of customer mission objectives. Success in this role requires strong organizational structure, analytical insight, and a commitment to accountability.

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Strong understanding of facilities engineering, maintenance, repair, and operations
  • Experience improving operational processes, systems, and efficiencies
  • Ability to interpret and implement maintenance policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to support technical operations and cross-functional teams
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment

Security Clearance Required: Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance

Minimum Education:

  • High school diploma, vocational/trade school certification, or equivalent

Minimum Years of Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant engineering, facilities, or business experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of management-level experience and comparable leadership responsibility similar to the current scope of work
  • Strong working knowledge with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) in asset-intensive operations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field from an accredited university
  • Experience as a manager/supervisor working in unionized environments
  • Demonstrated personnel management experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong technical knowledge of facilities engineering, maintenance, repair and operations
