About Us
Elevo's mission is to transform the well-being of students so they look forward to coming to school. Our WASC-accredited curriculum engages students and fosters social-emotional learning through fun, physically active games, sports, and enrichment activities focused on arts, humanities, and STEM. The services we provide include the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program, Before & After School Programs, Summer & Intersession Programs, and so much more. Our programs offer opportunities to learn, move, and thrive together beyond classroom walls while developing essential life skills. We continue to build our capacity as we expand our programs to more districts.
The Role
Elevo seeks a Curriculum Developer who specializes in sports education. This role owns the research and development of sports curriculum, which Elevo Coaches use to deliver instruction to students in TK-Grade 12. Examples of sports include but are not limited to soccer, lacrosse, tennis, golf, track & field, volleyball, and cheer. For each sport, the Curriculum Developer authors a sequence of standards-based lessons that systematically improve students' skills and tactical understanding of the game or activity.
The goal of improving students' knowledge about the specific skills and strategy of a given sport (rather than emphasizing overall physical literacy and health) differentiates the Curriculum Developer's work product from a typical school-day physical education program. The ideal candidate possesses the breadth of knowledge to author sports lessons at different levels and from different perspectives. For example, the Curriculum Developer comfortably authors sequenced lessons that provide basic exposure to a sport, as well as sequenced lessons that are appropriate for students who are competitive in the sport.
Responsibilities:
  • Author high-quality curricular components that demonstrate proficient knowledge of age-appropriate pedagogy, content, and internal and external quality standards.
  • Develop lesson designs that show consideration for the Coach's circumstances, and that create effective entry points for engaging most students.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with team members to create curriculum aligned to established instructional design philosophies and product requirements.
  • Apply editorial guidelines consistently across products.
  • Support others to author high-quality content through peer review.
  • Adhere to a deadline-driven workflow by completing the appropriate scope, sequence, and quality of work within the desired timeframe.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with product leaders and cross-functional teams to mitigate risks, identify issues, address setbacks, and communicate decisions transparently.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working in education or publishing with a track record of success in coaching or teaching sports in the TK-12 education sector.
  • Experience with and knowledge of students' learning and development, such as through teaching or classroom experience, ELO-P implementation, or content development at another publisher or company.
  • Capacity to receive and then apply external and internal feedback from peers, senior leadership, consultants, and colleagues.
  • Clear and succinct writing skills, with the ability to produce content aligned to the organizational and product vision.
  • Strong verbal and social communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, using a set of editorial guidelines.
  • Ability to problem solve to create a high-quality product by established deadlines.
  • Proficient with technology and comfortable learning new applications (e.g., InDesign, MS Office 365, and Google Suite).
Skills, Knowledge, & Traits:
  • Ability to remain flexible in an ambiguous, fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
  • Receptive to feedback, with a focus on reflective practice.
  • Commitment to high standards and continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in both working independently and collaborating as part of a team.
  • Highly collaborative with the ability to consistently exhibit diplomacy, tact, and integrity.
  • Willingness to bring a proactive problem-solving orientation to every task.
  • Appreciation for the challenges and victories faced every day by Coaches and students.
  • Commitment to collective authorship.

This position's target annual base pay range is $71,000 - $80,000. Final pay determinations may depend on various factors, including, but not limited to, experience level, education, geographical location, knowledge, and skills. Elevo also offers a full range of health insurance benefits, 401(k) company match, and paid time off benefits. Elevo is committed to creating a diverse work environment and is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer. All applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, age, or veteran status. Elevo is an e-verify employer. Read Elevo's Privacy Policy HERE.
