Overview:
The Barback is responsible for delivering excellence in guest service by supporting servers in providing personalized service, anticipating, and delivering guests' needs. The Barback understands the cocktail/beverage menus, anticipating the bartenders' needs to ensure all products and supplies are available.
Responsibilities:
  • Consistent maintenance and refinement of service standards. Ensures compliance with all hotel standards and local laws.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation awareness standards. Prepare daily for health department and Ecosure inspections.
  • Must have knowledge of a variety of alcoholic beverages, must retain and maintain complete knowledge of all food and beverage menu items.
  • Perform all banquet side work as assigned by management, including but not limited to the cleaning of bar and beverage equipment, cleaning of portable bars and back bars, walls, and carpets surrounding the assigned work area.
  • Ensure positive guest service and respond positively to complaints, taking all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests.
  • Assist in the control of food and beverage quantities by avoiding over/under preparing.
  • Assist with the set-up and breakdown of all the banquet bar areas.
  • Attend all required department trainings and meetings.
  • Perform any other duties required by leadership.

Qualifications:
  • The Candidate must have hands-on food and beverage knowledge and a comprehensive, working knowledge of the hospitality business.
  • A minimum of relevant bar experience in a large convention hotel is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to always maintain a positive and professional demeanor and composure.
  • Proven ability to engage guests at all levels. Must be passionate about providing warm, engaging, and personalized service.
  • Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management, and co-workers.
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to handle multiple priorities.
  • Computer literacy to include Payroll systems, Micros, and POS systems
  • Serve Safe certified | Unexpired TIPs required.
