This is a full-time, exempt position. The role may be remote or hybrid based on business needs and requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams. The Director is expected to support critical production events, peak business periods, and high-priority initiatives while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

  • Establish clear expectations, monitor organizational health, and ensure the team has the skills, capacity, and engagement necessary to meet business objectives.
  • Work closely with other IT leaders across Infrastructure, Data, Technical, Operations and Infosec to ensure platforms, integrations, and services meet enterprise standards for security, reliability, scalability, performance, and operational excellence.

Delivery Execution & Engineering Operations

  • Own delivery of the ecommerce engineering roadmap, ensuring predictable execution of strategic initiatives, releases, operational priorities, and production support.
  • Manage priorities, dependencies, risks, resourcing, and release readiness while improving delivery quality, transparency, and predictability.
  • Continuously improve engineering operating practices, including Agile delivery, SDLC, QA, DevOps, CI/CD, release management, incident response, and operational support.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs to assess team and stack performance and use data-driven insights to inform decisions.

  • Establish engineering standards that promote scalability, maintainability, extendability and performance.
  • Work with cross functional teams to build in security, accessibility, and reliability, and long-term platform health.
  • Champion the long-term health of Hanna's ecommerce technology ecosystem by establishing technical direction, architecture, and governance that enable efficient sustainable growth and operational excellence.
  • Lead modernization of Hanna's commerce ecosystem, including Salesforce Commerce Cloud, composable commerce, APIs, integrations, cloud services, and supporting technologies.

Platform Reliability & Customer Experience

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve customer experience, engineering productivity, and business performance.
  • Champion responsible adoption of AI across engineering, leveraging modern tools to improve software development, testing, documentation, operational efficiency, and developer effectiveness while maintaining appropriate governance and quality standards.
  • Support the evolution of Hanna's digital capabilities, including personalization, search, fulfillment, customer data, and future omnichannel experiences.

Vendor, Financial & Platform Stewardship

  • Lead strategic relationships with technology vendors, implementation partners, and managed service providers.
  • Support platform selection, contract negotiations, renewals, budgeting, and technology investment decisions while optimizing cost, value, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
  • Ensure third-party partners meet delivery expectations, technical standards, security requirements, and service commitments.

Strategic Programs & Special Projects

  • Lead cross-functional strategic initiatives beyond day-to-day engineering operations, including platform modernization, enterprise integrations, organizational transformation, and executive-sponsored technology programs.
