Job description

Why We Exist and What We Do:
At Dr. Squatch (www.drsquatch.com), we're raising the bar on men's personal care with our line of natural, high-performance products. We're on a high-growth, fast-moving ride, continually introducing new product categories, launching into retailers nationwide, and growing internationally. We have been recognized and certified by Great Place to Work® multiple times, and we achieved status as a certified B Corp in 2023. We are looking for passionate, talented people who want to join us in our mission to inspire and educate men to be happier and healthier!
About the Role:
Dr. Squatch is looking for a sharp, analytically-driven Retention & Merchandising Strategy Manager to join the Retention Team. This is a strategy-first role: you will define the vision and approach for our subscription and loyalty programs, identify opportunities to improve retention and grow LTV, and translate data into clear recommendations and initiatives. You'll also inform the merchandising strategy - particularly how we think about product access, offer design, and A/B testing - working closely with the web team to execute.
This role is ideal for someone coming out of consulting or a fast-paced ecommerce environment who wants to own a meaningful strategy function at a high-growth consumer brand.
This role reports to the Director of Retention & Monetization and works closely with Digital Product, Integrated Marketing, and the broader business.
This is a full-time role with company benefits based in Marina Del Rey, CA.
The anticipated base compensation range for this role will be $95,000 to $120,000. Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and local market rates.
What You'll Do:
  • Define the strategy and roadmap for our subscription and loyalty programs - identifying opportunities to reduce churn, deepen engagement, and grow LTV - and work with the Digital Product team to execute
  • Own performance monitoring across retention, subscription, and loyalty - building and maintaining reporting cadences that surface early signals and inform both short-term actions and longer-term strategic priorities
  • Develop and maintain LTV:CAC and retention modeling frameworks, translating complex data into clear business recommendations
  • Inform the merchandising strategy for subscription and loyalty - including which products and LE drops members can access, offer design, and exclusive assortment - in close partnership with the web team
  • Support the A/B testing roadmap for retention and site monetization initiatives, developing hypotheses, defining success metrics, and driving decisions from results
  • Build business cases for new initiatives, synthesizing performance data, customer insights, and market context into clear recommendations for leadership

About You:
  • 2-4 years of experience in management consulting, ecommerce, consumer brand, agency, or tech
  • Highly analytical - comfortable building models, interpreting data, and constructing a clear business case; experience with Looker or similar BI tools a plus
  • Strategic thinker who can also execute; you don't need perfect information to move forward and you know how to get things done cross-functionally
  • Fluent with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) and comfortable using them to work faster and smarter
  • Clear communicator with strong written and verbal skills; comfortable presenting to leadership
  • Experience with subscription, loyalty, or DTC ecommerce preferred; Shopify a plus

Who We Are:
Our core values come naturally and make us a better, more whole, and unique team. We are Bold & Innovative - we are creative, rethink how things are done, and find a way. We Play to Win - we have high standards, we encourage ownership of work, we are scrappy, we act with urgency, and we invest in the outcome of our work. We are Team Squatch - we are humble, help others outside our own wheelhouse, stay positive, have fun, and have approachable and transparent leadership.
We offer a competitive salary in a growth-focused & collaborative team environment. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401k with Squatch match, and PTO. We also have great perks like healthy snacks, frequent company events, and of course, free products!
