Job description

Dominion House Program Manager

Residential Mental Health

Dominion House, a group home in Schenectady, serves adults with a diagnosis of a mental illness in the Schenectady community. The Dominion House Program Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and operation of the group home.  The Program Manager is located on site and is part of the daily milieu ensuring the delivery of high-quality, recovery-oriented, person-centered services; provides leadership, supervision, and staff development; maintains compliance with agency and regulatory requirements; and oversees program operations, admissions, discharges, client services, budgeting, documentation, Medicaid billing, safety, and quality improvement.

  • Promote client independence, recovery, empowerment, dignity, and quality of life in a warm, caring, respectful, and homelike environment.
  • Provide person-centered, strength-based, and culturally responsive services and support clients in developing goals, strengths, and independent living skills.
  • Monitor program outcomes, quality indicators, client satisfaction, and service delivery; address deficiencies and promote continuous quality improvement.
  • Participate in the coordinate referrals, screening visits, and admissions.  Participate in County SPOA, referral, agency, county, and community meetings.
  • Supervise Assistant Program Managers and oversee staff supervision, delegation, accountability, and staff development and training, and performance.
  • Support recruitment, selection, onboarding, development, and performance evaluation of program staff.
  • Ensure client records and required documentation are accurate, timely, professional, and maintained in accordance with agency and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with agency policies, regulatory requirements, and other applicable laws and standards.
  • Manage incident reporting and follow-up and notify appropriate leadership as required.
  • Oversee Medicaid billing by establishing systems and expectations to ensure staff provide and document required monthly restorative services, billing review, and reimbursement reports in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ensure adequate staffing, effective delegation, and continuity of program operations.
  • Ensure the program is safe, clean, organized, and well maintained.  Report and follow up on maintenance, safety, and facility concerns.
  • Ensure emergency, safety, and operational procedures are implemented consistently.  Participate in the program rotating weekday crisis/on-call schedule and weekend community residences on-call schedule. Support staff, respond to crises, assess client safety and needs, provide appropriate intervention, and obtain additional services when necessary.
  • Provide client transportation when necessary, using agency vehicles. Employees must maintain a valid and insurable NYS driver's license, meet agency requirements to be an approved driver and drive safely.

Requirements

Skills/Qualifications for the Dominion House Program Manager:

  • Bachelor's degree in human services or a related field preferred. Equivalent education and extensive relevant human services experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of three years of experience working in a residential human services setting, preferably serving individuals with mental illness.
  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency with Windows and database applications; experience with electronic client records preferred.
  • Strong organizational, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and manage short- and long-term responsibilities.
  • Valid and insurable New York State driver's license.  Reliable access to a personal vehicle for business purposes. Agency vehicles are available for client transportation.

Benefits

Salary and Schedule of the Dominion House Program Manager:

  • Salary: $69,992.00/annual equivalent, $2,692.00biweekly
  • Full-time, 40 hours per week.  Monday-Friday, daytime hours, and rotating on-call.
