Job description

About Nooks.ai:
Nooks is an applied AI lab building the Agent Workspace for GTM. We design AI agents that operate across the full sales action set, from account strategy to prospect research and outreach. Building 0→1 has never been easier, but selling at the speed of the market remains the last frontier for AI. Our mission is to 10x every seller by automating the busywork so they can focus on what humans do best: closing deals.
Today, over 1,500 customers run on Nooks, including Notion, HubSpot, Cursor, and Rippling. We've raised $70M+ from top VCs like Kleiner Perkins, which made its first sales-tech investment in over a decade with us. Since then, we've tripled ARR each year for 3 years running and grown a high-caliber team turning the art of sales into a scalable science.
About the Role
Sales software was built for humans. But we believe most sales work will be done by agents within the next two years. Agent Studio is our bet to enable this: AI that does 90% of the non-calling, non-creative work an SDR team does today fully autonomously. We're piloting with a small set of design partners. As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll build those agents and iterate with customers until they see impact on their bottom line.
What you'll do
  • Build AI agents that drive revenue, end to end. GM-level responsibility for your customers' revenue numbers. We're aiming to 5x their meetings booked within a 1 month trial.
  • Build agents across the breadth of a sales rep's workday. Account strategy, prospecting, outbound emails, LinkedIn DMs, gifting, call prep, followups. Each one requires going deep on how the rep actually works.
  • Fully automate nuanced work on the SDR's behalf. These agents should learn over time, calibrate trust with the user, and have clear evals that prove they work.
  • Work with customers. Our customers have shared Slack channels with our engineers; you'll be on calls with users one day and shipping agent improvements back to them the next.
You might be a strong fit if:
  • 5+ years of engineering experience, ideally including time as a technical founder, founding engineer, or forward-deployed engineer at a place with a high bar.
  • Production experience with AI agents. For example, you've shipped a prompt or tool change in response to a specific user complaint that same week.
  • Strong opinions, held loosely, about which insights from the field belong in the platform vs as customer-facing modifiers.
  • High agency. Comfortable owning an outcome without a clear playbook.
  • Strong foundation in something close to our stack (React, TypeScript, Node.js, Python).
  • Based in San Francisco, excited to be in-office 3+ days per week.
At Nooks You'll Enjoy
  • A world-class team. Around 40 engineers, mostly former founders or founding engineers and veteran builders from places like Applied Intuition, Scale, Airtable, Citadel, and Jane Street. Thirteen Olympiad medals across the team.
  • A founder seat in shape. GM-level ownership of a 0-to-1 product line. The skills you build here are the ones you need to start a company next.
  • Top-of-market compensation.
