POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Automation Program Manager provides direction, leads, and manages the development and implementation of major automation and technical projects, or families of projects, with direct impact on core operations and processes at AirLife. They help improve efficiencies, reduce labor time, and introduce new initiatives to save the company money and time. This position focuses on long-term success and profitability and ensures a project's goals match the company's strategic plans.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge:

  • Expertise in automation development and deployment.
  • Expertise in project management strategies, methods, techniques, and procedures.
  • Experience in leading cross functional projects.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience working with outside suppliers (domestic and international).
  • Skill in budget preparation and fiscal management.
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.

Level of Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years proven experience in automation project management.
  • Global mindset and demonstrated experience operating internationally.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven experience managing teams.
  • Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Project.

Level of Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is beneficial.
  • Lean Six Sigma (LSS) training and/or certification is beneficial.

Travel:

  • As required based upon program and project needs.
  • Approximately 3-5 days per month on average.
  • Travel to China approximately 3-4 times per year.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Provide guidance and direction on automation projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical standards
  • Work with business stakeholders to analyze and identify key strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and execute automation strategies, including identifying automation opportunities and creating roadmaps.
  • Develop and implement robust automation frameworks and tools.
  • Mentor and train team members on automation best practices, and tools.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to support key initiatives as assigned.
  • Develop and deliver PowerPoint presentations for updating various steering committees and senior management on initiative progress.
  • Facilitate ongoing project management by ensuring team alignment, tracking key milestones and progress
  • Assess operations processes to identify opportunities for improvement, build stakeholder alignment and support implementation.
  • Research, select, and manage various automation tools and technologies.
  • Monitor the performance of automation solutions and identify areas for optimization and improvement.
  • Support executive level presentation development and communication.
  • Responsible for comprehensive project management to execute on strategy by managing key projects, communicating progress, escalating roadblocks and clear and timely communication to project team leads and stakeholders.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in automation to continuously improve processes and practices.
