Job Summary

Provides leadership and direction to Store Sales Representatives in designated District. Supervises direct reports to ensure the district achieves sales goals, service objectives, budget commitments, account profitability, and administrative commitments.  May also supervise Zone Manager attached to District.  Serves as the main point of contact for large accounts by maintaining excellent customer relations at the store level

 

Essential Job Functions*

  • Responsible for ensuring all aspects of Training are completed in timely manner
  • Works with SSRs (and ZM if applicable) on rotational basis to evaluate performance
  • Communicates with SSRs (and ZM if applicable) to provide information
  • Identifies potential candidates for advancement opportunities
  • Adheres to and follows Human Resource Procedures
  • Meets call cycle commitments
  • Plans and implements new procedures/projects within District (and Zone if applicable)
  • Ensures that all merchandising strategies are followed
  • Ensures that Product Knowledge and Safety presentations are conducted as needed
  • Ensures that expense controls are followed
  • Continually seeks cost-saving opportunities
  • Adjusts resources to accomplish objectives in most efficient manner
  • Assists Region/Senior District Manager in developing operating budget for District
  • Promptly responds to customer issues
  • Monitors competitor’s products, customer needs/trends
  • Regular communication with Supervisor and Account Managers
  • When applicable, oversee third-party labor, including coordinating with external vendors and their management to ensure alignment with business needs and expectations.
  • Owns project scheduling and execution across the market, building and aligning the team to deliver projects on time, within scope, and in accordance with established specifications and performance standards.

Education & Experience

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent in experience.
  • Previous experience managing group of individuals, as a Zone Manager or with other company.
  • Two years related experience working with hardware and home center accounts.

  • Maintains a valid driver license and vehicle insurance and can operate a motor vehicle safely.
  • Able to travel up to 75% of the time including some overnight stays.
  • Able to lead and motivate a large group of off-site staff by guiding, training, and offering counsel.

Work Environment

Sales/Service: Environment varies due to location/store set-up. May be exposed to cramped quarters, dust, fumes, or odors. Travel required daily. May have to drive 200 miles daily. Hand/eye coordination required. Function vision and hearing required.

Physical Demands

Sales/Service: Medium, lifting up to 30 lbs., occassionally pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs.
