Job description

HII seeking Distribution Clerk is responsible for supporting daily warehouse and distribution activities, including receiving, organizing, pulling, packing, and preparing materials or products for delivery or shipment. This position requires strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. There may also be a possibility of occasional driving, depending on business needs and the employeeโ€™s qualifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive, verify, and inspect incoming materials, products, or shipments.
  • Pick, pack, label, and prepare orders for delivery, shipment, or internal distribution.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts as needed.
  • Organize materials in designated storage areas to maintain a clean and efficient workspace.
  • Load and unload materials safely using proper equipment and procedures.
  • Prepare shipping documents, packing slips, labels, and other distribution paperwork.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure materials are distributed accurately and on time.
  • Assist with maintaining warehouse cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Report inventory discrepancies, damaged materials, or shipment issues to management.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, carts, or forklifts, if trained and authorized.
  • May occasionally drive a company vehicle for local deliveries, pickups, or errands, depending on business needs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Min 2 yrs Previous warehouse, distribution, shipping, receiving, or inventory experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Forklift or pallet jack experience is a plus.
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious.

Driving Requirement

This position may require occasional driving. If assigned driving duties, the employee must:

  • Possess a valid driverโ€™s license.
  • Maintain a clean and acceptable driving record.
  • Follow all company vehicle, safety, and traffic policies.
  • Be comfortable driving a company vehicle for local pickups, deliveries, or related business needs.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40 lbs. as needed.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • May be exposed to varying temperatures depending on work area or delivery needs.

Work Environment

This position is primarily performed in a warehouse or distribution setting. The role may require working around moving equipment, materials, and vehicles. Occasional driving or outdoor work may be required depending on business needs.

Schedule: M-F 7am-3:30pm with OT

Hourly range: $19hr-$20hr DOE
