Job description

JOB SUMMARY:
The Mini Tanker Dispatcher oversees all drivers in the Fuel Service. Responsibilities include carrying out all dispatching operations including payroll, order taking, assigning routes to drivers, directing drivers on their assignments and making decisions on any route changes. This position is dedicated to support customer sales and activities, including coordination and dispatch of sales and activities. Requires excellent customer service, accuracy, thoroughness in documentation, and good organizational skills with a consistent ability to work in a team. Petroleum experience preferred.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and background check
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • High School diploma required, Two Year degree preferred
  • Must have the ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language at a level sufficient

to communicate effectively with customers and team members
  • Activities: Sitting 85% Walking/Standing 15%
  • Lifting: Occasionally required to lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Vision: Computer screen
  • Mental Demands: Problem solving, and making decisions
  • Environment: Office environment with minimal outside exposure

JOB KNOWLEDGE:
  • Handle multiple tasks, have good analytical and mathematical skills
  • Knowledgeable of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word a must
  • Excellent customer service and follow up skills required
  • Good telephone and writing skills required
  • Be self-motivated but work within the team.
  • Able to be given a task and complete in a timely manner.

DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS
  • Arrive to work on time, consistently
  • Upon entering the property, arrive in proper uniform, crisp, clean and in good repair. Ensure team is in proper uniform as well
  • Hair must be clean and cut in a becoming style; management has final approval
  • Attend all required training, safety courses, office and departmental meetings
  • Report any safety hazards, follow up that hazard has been corrected, and assist with providing a safe work environment
  • Scheduling & dispatching of fuel
  • Awareness of regulations
  • Sharing after hour and emergency calls
  • Dispatching fuel orders
  • Payroll entry metafile and indexing
  • Dispatching of all areas of operation
  • Receives and communicate orders, changes, and inquiries. Allowed to make verbal contracts with customers
  • Create loads in computer software
  • Create and maintain new account information, ship to's, and pricing files
  • Support/communication with accounts receivables
  • Importing fuel prices creating team pricing notifications
  • Answering phones/order processing
  • Importing Fuel Prices, creating transport tickets
  • Set up of new account information including ship to's, tank files, and pricing
  • Report a driver at any time for failure to do required job
  • Maintains open communication to assist in finding solutions to problems
  • Report all incidents and driver complaints to supervisor with proper paperwork
  • Perform any additional tasks requested or assigned by Tanker Dispatch Supervisor.
