Role Summary

Supports cement dispatch operations by safely loading bulk cement trucks, operating cement transfer systems, maintaining dispatch equipment, and ensuring reliable product flow to customers. Responsible for supporting efficient dispatch activities, maintaining housekeeping standards, communicating equipment issues, and complying with all safety, environmental, operational, and regulatory requirements.

Purpose

Safely and efficiently execute cement dispatch operations by loading customer trucks, maintaining dispatch equipment, supporting cement inventory management, and ensuring dependable customer service while promoting operational reliability, product quality, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate bulk cement loading equipment to safely and accurately load customer trucks in accordance with company procedures, DOT requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Operate cement transfer pumps and related equipment to replenish storage silos, maintain cement inventory levels, and support uninterrupted plant operations.
  • Monitor dispatch operations to ensure product quality, loading accuracy, and efficient product movement.
  • Perform routine inspections, cleaning, and preventative maintenance of dispatch equipment, loading systems, piping, and distribution points to maintain reliable operation.
  • Identify operational issues affecting dispatch equipment and perform basic troubleshooting to restore equipment functionality whenever possible.
  • Communicate equipment failures and maintenance requirements to Maintenance and Operations personnel to support timely repairs and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain dispatch records and complete operational documentation as required.
  • Maintain housekeeping throughout dispatch areas to eliminate hazards and comply with MSHA, environmental, and company safety standards.
  • Comply with all company safety policies, environmental regulations, quality standards, and operating procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, equipment reliability, and customer service.
  • Work rotating schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required to support plant operations.
  • Support additional operational responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of bulk material handling, dispatch operations, and industrial equipment preferred.
  • Understanding of safe operating practices within a manufacturing, mining, cement, or industrial environment.
  • Basic knowledge of preventative maintenance practices and equipment inspections.
  • Knowledge of DOT loading requirements, MSHA regulations, and environmental compliance requirements preferred.
  • Ability to identify equipment abnormalities and communicate maintenance needs effectively.
  • Basic computer skills to support dispatch systems and operational documentation.

Experience & Education

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in cement manufacturing, mining, industrial manufacturing, dispatch operations, bulk material handling, or related industrial environments preferred.
  • Weighmaster certification or previous weighmaster experience preferred.
  • Experience operating industrial equipment or bulk loading systems preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
