Job description

Dispatch Operations Specialist

Transdev in Houston, TX is hiring a Dispatch Operations Specialist. The Dispatch Operations Specialist oversees road service through communication with Operators and provides customer support to the clients. We are seeking customer service-oriented professionals who are dedicated to safety.

Transdev is proud to offer:

  • Competitive compensation package of minimum $19.50/hour – Maximum $24.25/hour

Benefits include:

  • Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks

  • Holidays: 12 days; 8 standard and 4 floating

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the issuance of all routes and make sure the route begins on time, monitor performance, record all incidents, etc.
  • Insures all drivers’ licenses and DOT cards are valid.
  • Inspect all employees for uniform compliance.
  • Provide customer support by responding to questions and concerns regarding drivers including no shows, cancellations and missed trips.
  • Manage emergency situations for vehicles and operators, function as liaison between the carrier and emergency services.
  • Manage daily service by reviewing route performance and proactively responding to situations that impact customer service.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED; Technical Degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years' experience of dispatching.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Physical Requirements

The essential functions of this position require the ability to:

  • Sit for extended periods (6-8 hours per day)
  • Pull and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50lbs., with or without assistance, occasionally bend, kneel or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level.
