Job description

Overview:
We are seeking to fill a role of Dispatch/Operations Support to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a household goods and commercial moving warehouse.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily dispatching: assign crews, route planning, and schedule adjustments for household and commercial moves
  • Monitor job progress and update stakeholders (customers, crews, operations manager) in real time
  • Respond quickly to emails, phone messages, and low-level crew requests; provide on-the-spot problem solving
  • Coordinate truck and crew resources to maximize efficiency and meet ETA commitments
  • Enter and maintain accurate dispatch, job, and inventory records in company systems
  • Track equipment, supplies, and fuel usage; notify manager of shortages or maintenance needs
  • Escalate operational issues and safety concerns to the Operations Manager when appropriate
  • Support billing/admin tasks: verify job details, capture required paperwork, and upload documents
  • Assist with last-minute scheduling changes, cancellations, and emergency customer requests
  • Ensure accurate warehouse paperwork is completed and turned into operations
  • Ensure orders arriving from returning crews are properly and timely handled by crews and/or warehouse
  • Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
  • Operate and maintain preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment
  • Display strong problem solving, organizational and analytical skills
  • Keep a clean and safe working environment

Required skills & qualifications

  • 1-3 years customer service, dispatch, logistics, or operations support experience (moving industry experience a plus)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; professional phone/email etiquette
  • Proficient with computers and common software (Google Workspace/Microsoft Office); ability to learn dispatch/CRM systems quickly
  • Excellent organization, time management, and multi-tasking ability in a fast-paced environment
  • Operate a sit down 5,000 LB forklift
  • Problem-solver who stays calm under pressure and makes timely decisions
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours (occasional evenings/weekends/onsite as needed)
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as required

Work environment & compensation (optional to include)

  • Full-time, hourly position with potential for overtime
  • Reports to Operations Manager; hybrid of office and field coordination

  • Compensation is $50,000-$56,000 Dependent on experience

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • High School GED or certifications with equivalent experience.
