Job description

Position Title: Driver Supervisor / Dispatch
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Bethlehem, PA
Work Days/Hours: 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM - 4 days/week (On-Site)
Salary Range: $45 - 50K
Trans-Bridge Lines, Inc., a family-run company celebrating its 85th year in business, is currently seeking a Dispatch/Driver Supervisor to join our operations team. We are looking for a take-charge type of person who thrives on thinking on their feet and wants to be in instrumental part of the operations team.
In this role you will manage the dispatching of drivers and bus assignments to meet customer demand levels on a timely and efficient basis. You will supervise driver activities to ensure compliance with Company rules and policies, and be responsible for the collection and processing of all logs, forms and reports connected with operations and compliance with State and Federal Regulations.
This position is based at our Bethlehem location and requires an on-site presence (NOT hybrid or remote).
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • In charge of driver work assignment(s) and changes, verifies driver check in for their work assignment, and makes sure the driver understands all aspect of their daily work assignment.
  • Monitors driver uniform and appearance to ensure compliance with Company policy.
  • Main point of contact communicating with drivers on the road regarding customer counts, traffic conditions, assignment changes, accidents, bus issues, customer escalation issues, etc.
  • Go-between person between the driver and maintenance personnel in handling road failures and accidents.
  • Educates drivers of procedure changes and confirms changes have been reviewed.
  • Monitors driver's times and expenses on charter and tour envelopes.
  • Obtain and reviews itineraries for all tours and charter trips and ensures all needed documentation is in order.
  • Prepares all preliminary documentation and items/equipment needed for multi-day trips including but not limited to driver expense advances.
  • Be well versed on Company payroll rules and regulations regarding drivers and coordinates with the payroll department regarding extra hours, changes, deductions, etc.
  • Monitors driver preparation of accident and incident reports. When necessary, assist drivers with workers' compensation forms to expedite the workers' compensation process.
  • Maintains attendance records, day off requests, and driver availability.
  • Familiarize and keep up to date with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
  • Perform other duties/responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate well with customers, drivers, operations team, and management.
  • Ability to work alone and well with others.
  • Punctual to work.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous Dispatch experience and/or transportation industry background strongly preferred.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and use of Microsoft programs a plus.
  • Knowledge of GPS tracking systems such as Saucon a plus.
  • Prior driving experience and/or CDL is a plus

Physical Requirements:
  • Must pass drug and alcohol screenings.
  • Sitting at a desk for a prolonged period while working on a computer and performing dispatching duties.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to work holidays and weekends when scheduled.
