Job description

Overview
As a Dispatch Manager, you'll get to assist the Plant Manager in managing the activities of the truck drivers assigned to that plant by scheduling and dispatching drivers to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications, or needs, using radios or telephones.
What You'll Do
  • Arrange for necessary repairs in order to restore service and schedules
  • Relay work orders, messages, and information to or from drivers, supervisors
  • Confer with customers or supervising personnel in order to address questions, problems, and requests for service
  • Receive or prepare work orders and prepare daily work and run schedules
  • Monitor personnel and/or equipment locations and utilization in order to coordinate service and schedules
  • Record and maintain driver files and records of customer requests, work or services performed, charges, expenses, inventory, and other dispatch information
  • Oversee all aspects shipping/receiving functions including inventory and the maintenance of inventory

What You'll Need
  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • 1+ years of experience as a Dispatch Manager required
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required
  • Previous experience in transportation and/or logistics strongly preferred
