Position Summary
Lawrence Companies is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dispatcher / Driver Manager to support our transportation operations. This role is responsible for coordinating daily dispatch activities, managing driver performance, and ensuring timely, safe, and efficient delivery of loads. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and prior experience working with drivers-flatbed experience is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
  • Dispatch drivers efficiently while maximizing productivity and on-time performance
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned drivers
  • Monitor driver availability, hours of service, and route progress
  • Communicate load details, delivery instructions, and customer expectations clearly
  • Track shipments and proactively resolve issues or delays
  • Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company policies
  • Maintain accurate records within dispatch and TMS systems
  • Support drivers with problem-solving, scheduling, and day-to-day operational needs
  • Coordinate with operations, safety, and customer service teams

Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a dispatcher, driver manager, or similar role
  • Flatbed trucking experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of DOT Hours of Service and compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient with transportation software and standard office tools
