Responsibilities:

  • Work with outside carriers and brokers to negotiate freight rates and fill all company trucks
  • Schedule all backhauls and pick-up dates to ensure product is scheduled to meet the requirements for outbound orders
  • Maintain daily contact with company drivers and outside carriers
  • Provide day-to-day support to drivers by responding to questions, addressing issues that arise on the road, and coordinating solutions with appropriate personnel during scheduled and after-hours operations.
  • Track drivers' freight; keep buyers and outside carriers aware of changes or delays
  • Process outbound paperwork for drivers
  • Schedule monthly returns from divisions and coordinate with purchasing department
  • Cross train with other dispatch personnel for backup
  • Communicate with driver through the Sam Sara system, track DVIR’s and hours of service for dispatch purposes.
  • Coordinate with vendors for receiving appointments via either email or phone calls.
  • Reconcile driver paperwork/expense sheets on a daily basis
  • Communicate with receiving on inbound PO’s as scheduled making sure the day is not overloaded.
  • Assist outside carriers with their paperwork for the loads.

 Requirements: 

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years' experience in Transportation and Logistics highly preferred
  • A background in shipping, receiving and transportation operations a plus
  • Strong people and problem-solving skills a must
  • This candidate must be a strong team player and possess a positive attitude
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills when working with both internal and external customers
  • Proficiency with MS office software and knowledge of the AS400 is preferred

Colorado salary range: $22 - $26 per hour based on experience, education and geographic location.
