Position Summary
The Staff Accountant plays a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records and reporting processes. This position is responsible for recording, analyzing, and reconciling financial transactions while supporting the monthly close process, and ongoing financial analysis. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, analytical, and collaborative, with the ability to partner across multiple departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and support informed business decision-making. This position reports directly to the Senior Manager, Inventory Accounting
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation, analysis, and reconciliation of monthly financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Partner with Supply Chain, Accounts Receivable, Corporate Programs, and Treasury teams to gather, validate, and record financial information critical to the month-end close process.
  • Maintain and monitor inventory transactions that occur in the normal course of business.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and inventory accounting procedures involving SOX.
  • Understanding or experience working with key financial modules within D365 F&O... AR, AP, GL, Inventory Management.
  • Ability to analyze and investigate financial and inventory data within D365 F&O
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports on key business and financial performance metrics, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Analyze financial and operational data to provide actionable insights and support business decision-making.
  • Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Maintain strong cross-functional relationships and communicate effectively with employees and business partners at all levels of the organization.
  • Support process improvement initiatives by identifying efficiencies and recommending enhancements to accounting and reporting procedures.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Job Required Knowledge and Skills
  • 1-2 years of experience in accounting, finance, financial analysis, or related business functions.
  • Bachelor's level degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 1-2 years of experience supporting accounts receivable, accounts payable and retail inventory moement.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting concepts.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with the ability to organize, analyze, and interpret large datasets.
  • Experience preparing, maintaining, and analyzing reports to support business and financial objectives.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with the ability to identify trends, investigate discrepancies, and recommend solutions.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize workload, manage multiple deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle competing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and financial/accounting systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) is preferred.
