The department recommends strategies to reduce or eliminate risks, and administers the university's insurance programs to facilitate maximum recovery from accidental losses. The UCSC Risk Services and Occupational Health Office advises the campus community through an enterprise risk management framework to provide a holistic approach to institutional risks. By strategically managing risk we can strengthen the campus safety culture, protect the campus community and support the university's mission by minimizing potential losses and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies. JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Disability Management Services Manager, the Disability Management Analyst is a member of the UCSC Office of Risk Services. The Disability Management Analyst is responsible for providing support in implementing services and programs for the campus Disability Management Services office, as well as providing support for other Risk Services programs. The Disability Management Analyst is also responsible for coordinating assigned segments of the University's disability management program. Uses skills as an experienced professional with a full understanding of industry best practices in identifying methods and techniques for optimal risk mitigation solutions.
APPOINTMENT INFORMATION
Budgeted Salary: $71,600 - $85,500 / Annually. Salary commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience.

JOB DUTIES
40% - Disability Management Case Coordination and Program Services Support
  • Provides support with coordination of services and equipment for assigned disability management cases.
  • Provides remediation services to ensure accessibility of documents for assigned disability management cases
  • Analyzes and compiles disability management data; identifies and collects missing information; inputs essential data within reporting deadlines; establishes and maintains confidential case files.
  • Researches, analyzes, and makes recommendations for vendors to provide Disability Management specialized services
  • Assists with implementing disability management risk control programs and strategies to reduce compliance risks and litigation.
  • Coordinates annual renewal process for vendor Statements of Work and liaises with Finance to set up new vendors and purchase orders
  • Engages with vendors for various accessibility services
  • Assists with analyzing complex data and metrics reports.
  • Assemble and deliver furniture and equipment to multiple campus locations
  • Provides related support as requested by Disability Management Services Manager and Senior Disability Analyst

40% - Disability Management Program Development
  • Assists in developing program efficiencies.
  • Provides support in developing programming to support Disability Management services goals. Liaises with Workers' Compensation for collaborative programming approach.
  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify high-risk areas and activities within the university.
  • Design ongoing training programs to educate staff and faculty on best practices in Disability Management. Liaises with Workers' Compensation for collaborative training approach.
  • Work closely with departments identified as high-risk for compliance to tailor initiatives that address specific needs and challenges.
  • Regularly review the effectiveness of implemented measures and training programs, using data-driven approaches to make necessary adjustments.
  • Provide detailed reports on progress to demonstrate the impact of the initiatives.
  • Develop ongoing customer satisfaction surveys for Disability Management Services programs and training to evaluate program success. Monitor responses and provide detailed analysis with recommendations on a quarterly basis.

20% - Risk Services Program Coordination and Support
  • Provide risk analysis support to Risk Services department programs, including but not limited to Workers' Compensation, Risk Control, and Driver Safety.
  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify high-risk areas and activities within the university.
  • Support Risk Services initiatives.
  • Assists with implementing risk control programs and strategies to reduce compliance risks and litigation.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Advanced knowledge of non-occupational disability management practices
  • Demonstrated knowledge of occupational disability management
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology and medical reports and their respective implications for reasonable accommodation and placement.
  • Proven organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce clear, well-documented correspondence, procedures, and publications.
  • Advanced computer skills characterized by: knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and the ability to learn and utilize a case management information system.
  • Ability to maintain highly confidential information in an appropriate manner; and maintain high ethical standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities/projects simultaneously and deliver quality results within deadlines.
  • Proven ability to use critical thinking and analytical skills to solve problems.
  • Demonstrated political acumen and ability to interact in a positive and professional manner with all levels of personnel within the organization.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Certified Professional in Disability Management (CPDM) professional designation
  • California Department of Insurance License (property and liability)
  • Completion of Insurance Educational Association course WCCA 10, Foundations of California Workers' Compensation Claims, or equivalent Workers' Compensation course
  • Ability to communicate in the Spanish language
  • Demonstrated skills to develop course materials effectively for diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of general risk management policies and procedures
  • General understanding of insurance, liability, and exposures
  • Previous risk-related higher education experience

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
