LTD policies typically begin paying benefits after a waiting period, often 90 to 180 days, and can continue for several years or until you reach retirement age, depending on the terms of the policy. The amount you receive is usually a percentage of your regular salary, helping you maintain financial stability while you recover. Building collaborative relationships with medical professionals, legal advisors, and internal teams is essential for efficient case management and ensuring fair outcomes for all parties involved.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a long term disability claims specialist, and why are they important?
