Job description

The Casualty Claims department within IAT Insurance Group has an immediate opening for a Manager of Claims Services in our Auto-PD department.The Manager is a strong technical leader with operational and technical expertise. The role will provide leadership to claims staff handling Commercial Trucking Physical Damage and Property Damage Claims .This role can be located in one of the following offices:

  • Naperville, Illinois

  • Raleigh, North Carolina

  • Virginia Beach, Virginia

This role works a hybrid schedule that requires working from the office Monday through Wednesday, with the option of working Thursday and Friday remotely.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership to assigned staff by leading organizational change; developing and empowering staff; cultivating relationships; putting staff in a position to succeed, meeting their personal career goals while also achieving organizational goals; building effective teams that apply their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals; driving engagement and creating a climate where staff are motivated to do their best.

  • Develops and implements methods and procedures for monitoring team and individual work activities, in order to inform management of current status of those work activities.

  • Recommends measures to improve methods, performance, and quality of service, and suggests changes in working conditions to increase efficiency.

  • Evaluates employee performance, and recommends or initiates promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.

  • Travel as needed to attend meetings, mediations, court hearings, etc.

  • Supervise 6-8 claims adjusters.

  • Conduct and/or assist in quality assurance reviews on a timely basis to ensure adherence to Best Practices.

  • Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

Must-Have:

  • Bachelors' degree with 5+ years of relevant claims experience or equivalent.

  • Equivalent is defined as 9+ years of relevant customer service experience including the 5 years of claims experience mentioned above.

  • License with home state that is reciprocal.

  • Relevant claims experience is defined as commercial auto.

  • 3+ years of Management/Leadership experience.

  • Ability to understand and utilize data.

  • Experience managing remote employees.

  • Negotiation experience.

  • Strong coverage experience.

  • Experience identifying elements of fraud and identifying recovery opportunities.

  • Ability to travel.

  • Experience managing employees in other locations.

  • To qualify, applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require VISA sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment purposes.

Preferred to Have:

  • Trucking claims experience.

  • Insurance designations such as AIC, ARM, CPCU

Compensation:

Please note, that the annual gross salary range associated with this posting is $72,560 - $157,950. The total compensation will include a base salary, performance-based bonus opportunities, 401(K) match, profit-sharing opportunities, and more.Actual salaries will vary based on factors such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and geographical location related to this specific role.
