Lifesteps is hiring Day Program Aides to work at the Adult Training Facility in Eighty Four, PA.

Lifesteps is a local, non-profit human services organization which has been serving Western Pennsylvania for over 100 years by โ€œhelping individuals and families with life's changing needsโ€. The Agency provides programs and services to help those with special needs live to their fullest potential. Day Program Instructor - Part-time - Monday through Friday

Lifesteps is expanding services in Washington County and has an immediate need for several Day Program Aides or Developmental Disability Aide in Eighty Four, PA.


POSITION SUMMARY:

Have fun while you work and bring joy into the lives of the adult program participants! The Program Aide/Instructor is responsible for assisting special needs adults with activities such as crafts, community outings and life skills.

Staff observe and report on the accomplishments of participants, while maintaining a safe and clean environment and the day program aide transports participants when in the community using an Agency vehicle for learning, engagement and fun activities.

Part-time - Monday through Friday - 7:15 am to 2:00 pm Program Assistant

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Current driverโ€™s license with the ability to travel utilizing an Agency vehicle
  • Obtain and maintain certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) - provided by Lifesteps
  • First aid and CPR certification or the ability to obtain and maintain within six (6) months - provided by Lifesteps

Preferred:

  • One-year experience working with individuals in the human services field, like direct care, home health aide, personal attendant, TSS, etc.
  • Associates or bachelorโ€™s degree in Special Education, Sociology, Psychology, Criminology, Recreational Therapy, Health Education, Nutrition, or any other major
