Job Description Summary
MUSC is seeking a dedicated and skilled nurse for our high-volume Admit Transfer Center. This elite team of professionals is the hub for all admissions and transfers across our 16-hospital system in South Carolina and manages approximately 2000 beds, coordinating approximately 1500 transfers monthly and 1000 phone calls daily.The RN will be a key contact, facilitating patient transfers to MUSC hospitals from MUSC as well as non-MUSC facilities. This position collaborates with our Patient Placement representatives and acts as a clinical resource and facilitator. The RN will utilize technology for multi-faceted communications and apply nursing knowledge derived from education and experience. This position will help direct transfers, admissions, bed requests from inpatient, outpatient, clinics, pre-admits, and requests for cardiovascular and medical/surgical services.

Meet the Team: Medical University of South Carolina Admit-Transfer Center
Minimum Training and Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to initiate education for BSN within 2 years and complete within four years of hire date. Employees are required to sign an agreement regarding the education requirement.
Minimum Experience: 5 years of work experience as a Registered Nurse. Leadership experience, including Charge Nurse, Nurse Supervisor, and/or Nurse Manager preferred. Experience with EPIC and patient flow/throughput in a call center environment preferred.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Some positions require certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
Shift Information:
(3) 12-hour shifts per week
7am - 7pm
Rotating Holidays, Weekends, and Storm Coverage required for all positions

Ability to maintain vision 20/40 corrected. (C) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. (C) Ability to match or discriminate between colors. (C) Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception. (C) Good peripheral vision capabilities. (C) Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction. (C) Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements. (C) Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations. (C) Ability to work rotating shifts.
