Job Description
Cabell Huntington Hospital seeks a casual, as needed Patient Transfer Coordinator to work in our Patient Transfer Center.
The Patient Transfer Coordinator will be responsible for, upon physician approval:
  • Arranging and facilitating all facets of patient transfers into Cabell Huntington Hospital.
  • Additionally, they will assist with the transfer of patient from the facility.
  • In an effort to provide exceptional customer service, the Patient Transfer Coordinator will provide daily follow-up on patients referred to Cabell Huntington.
  • The coordinator will also work with the Director of Business Development to assist with marketing efforts to hospitals in the region.

The shift will be determined by each hiring manager. The pay rate will be determined in accordance with the labor agreement.
To be considered, candidates must have a minimum of three years experience in critical care and/or emergency nursing.
Job Requirements
Emergency and/or critical care nursing experience with a clear understanding of appropriate patient triage. Appreciation of the importance of utilization review and/or quality assurance related activities Basic computer operation/keyboard experience Proven history of excellent customer service and communication skills
Special licenses, registration or certification:
  • Active, unrestricted registered nurse license in West Virginia
  • Preference will be given to those holding Certified Emergency Nurse and/or Critical Care Registered Nurse credentials
  • Preference will be given to those holding ACLS, BTLS/PHTLS, PALS/PEPP credentials

Education:
  • Preference will be given to those holding a Bachelor' degree or higher

Level and Type of Experience:
  • Minimum of three years experience in critical care and/or emergency nursing
  • Preference will be given to those with a proven history of excellent customer service
