Job Duties and Responsibilities

We are seeking a visionary, results-driven Director of Paid Media and Sling Acquisition Strategy to drive profitable new subscriber growth for our DISH TV and Sling TV video brands. This critical leadership role is focused on accelerating customer acquisition, expanding market share, and significantly strengthening our competitive position within the streaming industry.

The ideal candidate is a strategic marketer with strong analytical acumen and a passion for managing media execution. You will oversee the integration of acquisition strategy, paid media and advanced analytics to build a world-class acquisition engine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Acquisition & Forecasting: Define and execute the long-term growth strategy. Own the acquisition forecasting models to predict subscriber growth and optimize budget allocation across all digital channels.
  • Paid Media Leadership: Direct the planning and execution of high-scale performance marketing media to drive positive ROI.
  • Media Analytics & Optimization: Utilize a rigorous data-driven approach to monitor performance. Collaborate with data science teams to refine media attribution and leverage consumer insights into actionable growth strategies.
  • Vendor & Platform Management: Establish and grow strategic relationships with key agency and media partners.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and lead a high-performing marketing team. Cultivate a culture of rapid testing, continuous optimization, and professional development.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a thought leader within the organization, aligning acquisition efforts with Brand, Creative, and Product teams to ensure a seamless end-to-end customer journey.
Skills, Experience and Requirements
  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in digital marketing, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing large-scale media budgets.
  • Industry Expertise: Proven success in performance marketing and subscriber acquisition, preferably within a fast-paced subscription or streaming environment (DTC, Telecom, or Tech).
  • Analytical Mindset: Exceptional ability to translate commercial insights and raw data into breakthrough marketing strategies.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to influence at the executive level and lead cross-functional teams in a high-growth environment.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA preferred.
