PAYROLL SPECIALIST
We're hiring a Payroll Specialist on Englewood, Colorado. This role serves as the primary point of contact for unions, operations, management, finance, and HR on all payroll-related matters. The Payroll Specialist will process weekly union payroll across multiple locations, prepare monthly union reports, and interpret union contracts and prevailing wage requirements to ensure accuracy and compliance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Responsible for entering and processing weekly union payroll data from multiple locations.
  • Primary point of contact for unions, operations, management, finance, and HR for payroll related questions, inquiries, audits etc.
  • Prepare monthly union reports; cut checks via AP system; submit both to unions within deadline set by each union to avoid assessments and penalties.
  • Provide pro-active assistance and recommendation to operations by reading and interpreting union contracts, pre job documents, jurisdictional boundaries and prevailing wage requirements.
  • Assist auditors with internal and external audits
  • All other duties assigned

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in payroll processing
  • Experience working in a multi state, multi union environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to solve complex multi-state payroll tax issues
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • The physical activity and work environment required for this role includes:
    • Sitting for extended periods in an office environment
    • Frequently standing, walking, stooping, reaching, climbing, bending and reaching
    • Manual dexterity for computer use, files and office equipment
    • Occasionally lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
