Job Description

As an Associate Director, Social Strategy, you will play a key leadership role on our team, guiding the development and execution of breakthrough social strategies across an iconic household-name brand in the automotive space. This is a rare opportunity for a true T-shaped strategist, someone who combines deep expertise in social media with broad fluency in creative ideation, integrated marketing, client management, and culture-shaping campaigns.

This Detroit-based role will support a high-profile growth assignment for the agency, with organic social at the center of the work and close partnership across paid creative, influencer, media, analytics, CRM, and production.

Responsibilities Day-to-day, your role includes:
  • Leading the development of social strategies, playbooks, and frameworks across always-on, campaign, and launch environments.
  • Translating social, cultural, consumer, and category insights into compelling creative briefs and breakthrough ideas.
  • Developing integrated social and content strategies that drive brand relevance and business impact.
  • Helping shape major launches, partnerships, tentpole moments, and experiential activations.
  • Partnering closely with creative, influencer, analytics, media, CRM, and production teams to deliver connected programs and customer experiences.
  • Serving as a trusted advisor to clients, confidently managing relationships and navigating high-visibility initiatives.
  • Identifying emerging cultural, platform, and technology trends that create new opportunities for the brand.
  • Mentoring and developing junior team members.
Qualifications We're looking for impactful experience, which typically includes:
  • 6-8 years of digital and social experience across agency, brand, or publisher environments.
  • Experience developing social strategies for automotive, mobility, consumer technology, telecommunications, connected products, or other high-consideration categories.
  • A strong track record supporting brand relaunches, product launches, major partnerships, tentpole moments, and integrated campaigns.
  • Experience developing social strategies for large-scale events, sponsorships, experiential activations, or other high-visibility brand moments.
  • Experience leading social strategy within large integrated teams, partnering across creative, media, CRM, influencer, analytics, communications, and production disciplines.
  • Experience working on connected-service, subscription, ownership, or customer lifecycle businesses, with an understanding of how social can drive consideration, adoption, engagement, retention, and advocacy.
  • Expertise in organic social strategy, with strong familiarity across paid social, influencer strategy, content ecosystems, and measurement.
  • Experience crafting creative briefs, inspiring breakthrough work, and translating insights into actionable strategic recommendations.
  • Exceptional client management, communication, storytelling, and presentation skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and passion for mentoring others.

Compensation Range: USD $106,780.00 - USD $146,100.00/Annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
