With over 30 years of experience behind us our team and technology are focused on enabling safe and rewarding digital lives for everyone. Regardless of age, location or background, genuine people everywhere should be able to digitally prove who they are and where they live.
About the team and role
Customer Engineering
At GBG, our Customer Engineering organization sits at the intersection of technology, customer value, and commercial growth. As we continue to accelerate our North American expansion, we are building a world-class Solutions Engineering function that plays a critical role in helping organizations solve complex identity verification, fraud prevention, and data intelligence challenges.
The North American Solutions Engineering team is a high-performing group of technical consultants, trusted advisors, and problem-solvers who partner closely with Sales, Product, and Customer Success to drive customer outcomes and revenue growth. This team is instrumental in positioning GBG as a strategic partner to some of the region's most innovative organizations.
We are operating with the pace and ambition of a growth company, with North America serving as a key contributor to GBG's long-term vision of becoming a £1B revenue business. The team has established a strong foundation of success-consistently delivering market-leading proof-of-concept outcomes, accelerating customer time-to-value, and transforming the way we demonstrate and communicate the value of our solutions. Most importantly, we have built a culture grounded in accountability, collaboration, intellectual curiosity, and continuous improvement. Team members celebrate collective success, support one another through challenges, and are deeply committed to customer impact.
Work Structure:
This is a remote position with a strong preference for candidates in the Atlanta metropolitan area. Travel for customer visits, team collaboration, and stakeholder meetings may be required (estimated up to 40%).
The Role - Director of Solutions Engineering
As Director of Solutions Engineering, you will lead, mentor, and scale a team of Solutions Engineers across North America, driving technical excellence throughout the customer buying journey. Partnering closely with Sales leadership, you will develop winning presales strategies, guide complex enterprise opportunities, and ensure customers clearly understand the business value of GBG's solutions.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both strategic vision and active customer engagement. You will coach and develop top technical talent, drive presales best practices, and help shape the future of the function through the adoption of AI-enabled tools and processes. Ideal candidates bring a proven track record of leading high-performing presales teams, influencing executive stakeholders, and delivering results in a fast-paced, growth-oriented SaaS or technology environment.
What you will do
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Solutions Engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous growth.
  • Drive the technical sales strategy across North America, guiding discovery, solution design, demonstrations, and customer evaluations.
  • Partner closely with Sales leadership to align presales activities with revenue objectives and accelerate business growth.
  • Establish and scale best-in-class presales methodologies, processes, and tools to improve consistency, efficiency, and customer outcomes.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and executive sponsor on strategic enterprise opportunities, helping customers solve complex identity, fraud, and data challenges.
  • Champion the adoption of AI-enabled practices and technologies to enhance team productivity, customer engagement, and technical differentiation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product and Engineering teams to translate customer and market insights into future product innovation.
  • Leverage data and performance metrics to optimize technical win rates, evaluation success, deal velocity, and overall business impact.
  • Attract, hire, and retain top Solutions Engineering talent while building a scalable organization capable of supporting continued growth.
  • Serve as a key member of the Customer Engineering leadership team, helping shape the vision, strategy, and future direction of the function.
