ROLE SUMMARY
Zydus Therapeutics is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and deeply empathetic Director, Patient Marketing to drive the patient commercial strategy for our lead drug candidate, saroglitazar. As saroglitazar advances for a potential launch to treat Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC), this individual will lead the day-to-day execution of US patient marketing initiatives.
The Director, Patient Marketing will serve as the dedicated champion for the US patient journey, translating overarching brand strategy into impactful, cross-channel patient education, community engagement, and launch readiness plans.
This position reports to the Senior Director, Omnichannel and Patient Marketing.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Patient Strategy & Campaign Development
• Patient Campaign Strategy Support: Assist with the development of patient positioning, messaging frameworks, and creative campaigns for saroglitazar, ensuring seamless alignment with the broader brand strategy
• Launch Readiness: Advance the cross-channel disease state education (DSE) campaign and initiating development of the branded campaign to prepare for launch
Omnichannel Patient Engagement and Execution
• Campaign Execution: Partner closely with the Senior Director to execute digital, social media, web, and print patient-directed campaigns that drive disease education, brand recognition, and brand conversion
• Agency Management: Day-to-day management of creative, digital, and media-buying agency partners to ensure high-quality and timely deliverables
• Advocacy & Peer-to-Peer Programming: Partner with Medical Affairs to appropriately work with PBC patient advocacy groups and manage patient ambassador programs
Cross-Functional Leadership
• Patient Support Integration: Partner with Market Access/Patient Reimbursement and Patient Services teams to design clear, accessible onboarding and adherence materials
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner closely with HCP Marketing, Market Access, Business Insights & Operations, Medical, and Patient Services across the patient ecosystem
• Cross-Functional Omnichannel Support: Assist the Senior Director with select omnichannel HCP and Access tactics
• Materials Review: Navigate materials smoothly through the Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) review process, ensuring all patient-facing tactics strictly adhere to FDA regulations
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree (MBA) preferred
• A minimum of 7-10 years of commercial pharmaceutical marketing experience, with at least 3-5 years dedicated to patient marketing
• Rare disease, specialty hepatology/gastroenterology launch experience is highly preferred
• Strong expertise in modern consumer/patient marketing techniques, including CRM, targeted digital media, SEO/SEM, and social media marketing
• A genuine passion for empowering patients and improving quality of life for those facing rare liver diseases
• Comfortable working in a lean, fast-paced, pre-launch environment; a self-starter who excels at taking initiative within an established strategic framework
• Collaborative and action-oriented, with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without authority
• Robust analytical skills to conduct both qualitative and quantitative assessments
• Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
The position will require domestic travel (up to 25%)
