We are currently looking for a Director of Operations Analysis System Analytics for our Houston, TX office.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Director of Operations Analysis & System Analytics is responsible for leading enterprise-wide system optimization, operational analytics, and strategic operational planning initiatives across the company’s natural gas and liquids pipeline systems. This role provides leadership and direction for teams supporting real-time operational optimization, outage coordination, system analytics, hydraulic planning, and long-range infrastructure strategy.

The position partners closely with Control Center Operations, Commercial, Engineering & Construction, Integrity, Asset Reliability, Business Development, and executive leadership to improve operational decision-making, maximize system value, enhance reliability, and optimize overall system performance.

A key responsibility of the role is advancing scalable operational analytics and decision-support capabilities that enable more proactive, data-driven, and exception-based operational management across the organization.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead System Optimization teams supporting real-time operational coordination and optimization across interstate natural gas, liquids pipeline, and storage systems

• Develop and advance operational analytics, surrogate modeling, and decision-support tools that improve system optimization, operational visibility, and real-time decision making

• Partner directly with Gas Control and Liquids Control organizations to enhance operational effectiveness, situational awareness, and exception-based prioritization capabilities

• Lead development of enterprise KPI dashboards and operational analytics platforms tailored for multiple audiences including control room operations, leadership, commercial teams, and customers

• Drive operational performance monitoring and analytics associated with pipeline throughput, storage utilization, system constraints, operational efficiency, and reliability

• Lead Operations Analysis teams responsible for coordination and system impact analysis of significant maintenance activities, outages, integrity work, and operational events across Gulf South, Texas Gas, and BLM pipeline systems

• Coordinate cross-functional operational planning efforts involving Operations, Integrity, Asset Reliability, Engineering & Construction, Project Development, and Commercial organizations

• Provide leadership and guidance to engineering teams performing hydraulic analysis, operational impact studies, contingency planning, and system modeling

• Improve operational planning processes, analytical methodologies, and supporting engineering tools to enhance decision quality and organizational effectiveness

• Lead the BLM System Planning function and support long-range infrastructure planning, growth opportunities, and strategic expansion initiatives

• Partner with Business Development and Project Development teams to evaluate commercial opportunities, system capabilities, hydraulic impacts, and operational feasibility

• Support development of operational strategies that maximize revenue opportunities while reducing operational risk and cost

• Establish operating rhythms, governance processes, and performance metrics that improve alignment and execution across operational and planning organizations

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, analytical rigor, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration

PREFERRRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Extensive experience in pipeline operations, system planning, hydraulic modeling, operational analytics, or midstream engineering leadership

• Strong understanding of interstate natural gas and/or liquids pipeline operations and control center functions

• Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical and operational teams in complex operational environments

• Experience supporting large-scale operational coordination, outage management, and infrastructure planning efforts

• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, communication, and organizational leadership capabilities

• Ability to translate operational data and engineering insight into actionable business and operational strategies

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

  • Advanced technical or business degree preferred
