Job description

Director of Marketing

MCM Retail Group  |  Jacksonville, FL

Our brands: FirearmLand.com  ·  CashForArms.com

About Us

MCM Retail Group is a privately held, profitable company headquartered in Jacksonville, FL, and the parent of two of the strongest names in the online firearms marketplace: FirearmLand.com — the largest seller on GunBroker, the world’s biggest online firearms marketplace — and CashForArms.com, the trusted way for firearm owners nationwide to sell and consign. We’ve built our reputation on trust: giving firearm owners a fair, transparent, and genuinely better way to buy, sell, and consign, backed by thousands of customers nationwide and over 10,000 positive reviews.

We are scaling fast — fast enough that marketing can no longer be a collection of individual efforts. It needs a leader. That’s exactly why we’re investing in senior leadership to carry our growth forward. You’d be joining at a genuine inflection point, with the chance to shape our brands and build the marketing function as the company steps into its next phase.

The Opportunity

This is not a “manage the calendar and report the numbers” role. As Director of Marketing, you’ll own the entire growth engine: strategy, budget, execution, and results. You’ll report directly to the COO, have a real seat in how the business grows, and the freedom to build something from the ground up rather than maintain someone else’s playbook.

You’ll inherit a small, capable team of three specialists and take them from a set of individual efforts to a coordinated marketing operation with clear direction. If you like moving fast, love owning outcomes, and want to see your work land directly on revenue, this is the seat for you.

What Success Looks Like in Year One

  • A unified brand architecture and voice across MCM’s brands, with clear positioning for each.
  • Full-funnel conversion tracking in place, so every marketing dollar is tied to acquisition volume and revenue.
  • Measurable, compounding growth in qualified leads through SEO, paid, social, and lifecycle channels.
  • A three-person team operating on a clear cadence, with defined ownership and a scorecard the executive team trusts.

What You’ll Own

  • Build and execute a growth strategy that expands brand awareness locally and nationally across every digital channel.
  • Lead, develop, and grow a team of three marketing specialists, giving them the direction and structure to do their best work.
  • Own and optimize SEO strategy and Google Ads spend to maximize return on every dollar.
  • Drive measurable growth in followers, impressions, and qualified traffic across social platforms.
  • Design and run marketing experiments so that every dollar of budget is working as hard as possible.
  • Shape the look, feel, and voice of FirearmLand, CashForArms, and the brands we build next.
  • Convert our growing customer base into qualified leads that turn into transactions.
  • Own the marketing budget end to end.
  • Own the marketing scorecard: a sharp weekly view of performance against goals that the executive team can act on.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of highly successful growth, performance, or lifecycle marketing — including experience leading people or owning a channel end to end — with an e-commerce or lead-generation background strongly preferred.
  • A self-starter who figures things out and builds the playbook rather than waiting for one.
  • Proven ability to prioritize the work that drives the biggest impact on the business.
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools to sharpen marketing efficiency and output.
  • A data-driven mindset paired with the communication skills to present clearly to leadership.
  • Experience marketing in a restricted or regulated market is a plus, not a requirement.
  • A genuine interest in firearms. We are an enthusiast industry and firearms are central to everything we do. We’re looking for someone who’s excited to market them, not simply willing to.

Why You’ll Want to Work Here

We’re a place where you can build something real, move fast, and actually see the results of your work rather than watch them disappear into a larger machine. You’ll work directly with the COO, senior leadership team and company ownership — decisions here happen in hours, not weeks. Our team is passionate, enthusiastic, and highly collaborative because we’re all pulling in the same direction: giving our customers the absolute best experience possible and finding ways to make it better every single day.

We’d love to have you in our Jacksonville office, engaged with the team and part of the day-to-day, doing what matters most: making an impact.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary of $120,000 – $150,000+.
  • Annual performance bonus.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Paid time off.
  • 10% employee discount on purchases.
  • Jacksonville, FL (near UNF)

MCM Retail Group is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, or veteran status. Employment is contingent on a background check in accordance with applicable law.
