Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Director of Donor Relations and Stewardship. The Director of Donor Relations and Stewardship is responsible for designing, implementing and coordinating an institution-wide comprehensive donor relations and stewardship program that shows gratitude and impact to donors at all levels to strengthen relationships, enhances donor retention, and increases philanthropic support. The employee oversees the strategic direction of stewardship, recognition programs, and Foundation communications through use of multi channels. The position reports directly to the AVP for University Advancement and COO of the UNG Foundation.

Responsibilities
- Donor Recognition and Stewardship:
- Develop a vast knowledge of UNG Foundation's donor base in order to design, implement, and manage a strategic donor plan that includes gift stewardship, personalized communication, impact reporting, and tailored recognition programs and events.
- Collaborate with development directors, vice president for advancement, and UNG's senior leadership team to produce a donor stewardship program showing gratitude and impact, on both a mass scale and individual donor approach.
- Responsible for securing donor recognition plaques and donor walls for campus facilities, to include coordination with external vendors and campus leadership.
- Strategic Communication and Reporting:
- Produce a printed and online Annual Report for the UNG Foundation that includes a donor list, financial statements, and stories of the impact of philanthropy.
- Prepare and mail the annual Endowment Reports for scholarship, chair, and program fund donors.
- Collaborate with development directors and strategic communications and marketing to prepare gift announcements when appropriate and donor-centered strategic communications in multiple mediums.
- Scholarships:
- Design and implement annual Scholarship Impact Reporting program with the assistant director of donor relations to steward all scholarship donors and connect them with their award recipients. Includes obtaining student scholarship consent for recipient information and special recipient thank you notes to donors. May also include planning and implementing special events for donors and scholarship recipients with development directors.
- Donor Engagement:
- Coordinate with development directors to design and execute high-level donor recognition events, to include college or unit level special events.
- Serve as liaison to specialty donor groups such as Eagle Fund, Women of UNG, Foundation Trusteeship Committee to coordinate fundraising, marketing, communication, and stewardship efforts.
- Coordinate with university events in the planning and execution of campus wide events involving high-level donors.
- Professional Staff Management:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Office of Donor Relations.
- Direct reports include the Assistant Director of Donor Relations, and the Creative Design and Marketing Manager.
- Assist in creating, monitoring, and updating policies and procedures related to donor relations, to include the Donor Relations and Stewardship Program plan.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have the ability to effectively interact with a variety of constituents, volunteers, and co-workers across the University.
- Must maintain confidentiality, be detail oriented, and have the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced office and work with multiple priorities and deadlines with accuracy.
- The incumbent must possess a positive mindset and strong work ethic.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree is required
- Minimum of three (3) years of related experience specific to the combination of one of the following areas: donor or customer relations, communications, public relations, fundraising, marketing/sales. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree preferred.
- Prior experience in higher education and/or non-profit administration is preferred.
- Knowledge of Raiser's Edge by Blackbaud is preferred.
- Prior supervisory/management experience is preferred.
