Celanese is currently seeking a Manufacturing Plant Director to lead our manufacturing operations in Boucherville Canada.  

Our Celanese facility located in Boucherville, QC, produces Emulsion Polymers used in a variety of applications such as coatings, laminates and adhesives. 

The Boucherville Manufacturing Plant Director will report to the Regional Manufacturing Leader and will be responsible for the overall operational success of the emulsions manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient operations, maintaining high safety standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Relevant du Directeur régional de la fabrication, le ou la titulaire du poste sera responsable de la performance globale des opérations de l'usine. Cette personne veillera à assurer l'efficacité des opérations, à maintenir les plus hauts standards en matière de santé, sécurité, qualité et environnement, ainsi qu'à promouvoir une culture d'amélioration continue.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the manufacturing team to implement best operating practices and drive the site’s Safety, Quality, Reliability and Employee Engagement strategies.
  • Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production, safety and quality standards.
  • Ensure the facility provides the highest quality products produced in the most efficient manner within budgeted costs.
  • Develop and implement the site’s operational plans which include cost reduction initiatives, capital planning and resources as well as in other areas.
  • Maintain strong working relationships across all functional areas including supply chain, procurement, engineering, production, T&I, quality, finance, and sales.
  • Develop and oversee implementation of plant KPI’s as well as managing workforce recruitment and development.
  • Drive operational excellence and continuously identify ways to reduce plant operating costs.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with government bodies and authorities, as well as other manufacturing sites and external organizations to implement best practices.

  • Élaborer et mettre en œuvre les plans opérationnels du site, incluant les initiatives de réduction des coûts, la planification des investissements (CAPEX) et l'allocation des ressources.
  • Maintenir d'excellentes relations de collaboration avec les équipes de la chaîne d'approvisionnement, des achats, de l'ingénierie, de la production, de la maintenance et de la fiabilité, de la qualité, des finances et des ventes.
  • Développer, suivre et optimiser les indicateurs clés de performance (KPI) du site, tout en supervisant le recrutement, la formation et le développement des employés.
  • Promouvoir l'excellence opérationnelle et identifier continuellement des occasions de réduire les coûts d'exploitation.
  • Établir et maintenir des relations solides avec les organismes gouvernementaux, les autorités réglementaires, les autres sites de fabrication ainsi que les partenaires externes afin de favoriser le partage des meilleures pratiques.
Qualifications:
  • BSC in Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Must be fluent in Canadian French.
  • Increasing levels of responsibility to include a broad experience in manufacturing disciplines such as production engineering, EHS or maintenance and reliability roles. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport and influence at all levels in the organization.
  • Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and to manage time effectively.
  • Experience in change management and organizational development.
  • Operating excellence or Six Sigma certification and Lean experience preferred.
Qualifications
  • Baccalauréat en génie chimique ou dans une discipline connexe.
  • Minimum de 10 années d'expérience dans un poste de gestion en milieu manufacturier.
  • Excellente maîtrise du français (canadien), tant à l'oral qu'à l'écrit.
  • Expérience progressive dans des fonctions manufacturières telles que l'ingénierie de production, la santé, sécurité et environnement (SSE), ou la maintenance et la fiabilité.
  • Excellentes aptitudes en communication et en relations interpersonnelles.
  • Capacité démontrée à établir des relations de confiance et à exercer une influence auprès de tous les niveaux de l'organisation.
  • Excellente capacité d'adaptation, de gestion des priorités et d'organisation du travail.
  • Expérience en gestion du changement et en développement organisationnel.
  • Une certification Six Sigma, Lean ou une expérience en excellence opérationnelle constitue un atout.
