The Legal Operations Director serves as a strategic and operational partner to the Chief Legal Officer, North America, overseeing key legal department functions including claims and insurance administration, corporate entity management, outside counsel and legal spend, governance, and legal operations.

This role drives efficiency, accountability, risk management, and process improvement across the Legal function. The ideal candidate is a highly organized and experienced legal professional with strong project management skills, sound business judgment, and the ability to independently manage complex priorities while partnering effectively with executives and cross-functional leaders.

This is a full-time, hybrid position based in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, with in-office presence four days per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee claims, litigation, and insurance administration, including reporting, tracking, documentation, and coordination with insurers, brokers, third-party administrators, outside counsel, and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage corporate entity records, registrations, governance documentation, compliance filings, and related deadlines for domestic and international entities.
  • Oversee outside counsel relationships, matter administration, legal billing, and spend reporting, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and cost management.
  • Lead legal operations projects and process improvements, including workflows, reporting, technology, records management, and operational controls.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and executive materials to provide visibility into legal matters, risk, spend, and department performance.
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, Human Resources, Compliance, Risk Management, and Operations on cross-functional initiatives and strategic priorities.
  • Manage special projects and initiatives on behalf of the Chief Legal Officer, North America, while handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 10+ years of relevant legal experience, including 5+ years supporting an in-house legal department.
  • Experience in legal operations, claims and litigation administration, insurance, corporate governance, entity management, or a related function.
  • Experience managing outside counsel relationships, legal spend, and invoice review.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex projects and process improvement initiatives in a multi-state and/or multi-entity organization.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, project management, and communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and effectively partner with senior executives and cross-functional leaders.
  • Experience with legal technology, matter management, e-billing, or entity management systems preferred.
  • Paralegal, legal operations, or project management certification preferred.
