The Role

The Manager, Learning & Development plays a key role in strengthening consulting capability, healthcare and health technology expertise, and leadership effectiveness across AArete. Reporting to the Director of Learning & Development, this role partners closely with Operations, consulting leadership, and subject matter experts to design, deliver, and continuously improve learning programs that support consulting teams in the field, technology and shared services teams, and internal operations.

This role owns the end-to-end learning experience at AArete, including oversight of the firm's Learning Management System (Docebo) and leadership of the New Hire Onboarding program. The ideal candidate brings strong instructional design and internal consulting skills, is comfortable translating complex concepts into practical learning experiences for adult professionals and can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Work You'll Do

  • Align learning and development programs with AArete's business priorities and employees' development needs across consulting, technology, and operations
  • Evaluate AArete's training needs by assessing employee knowledge and capabilities and conducting needs assessments across consulting roles (Analyst, Senior Consultant, Manager) using surveys, leadership feedback, performance data, and other inputs
  • Design, coordinate, and execute training programs, workshops, and ongoing learning experiences focused on applied consulting skills, healthcare domain expertise, business communication, and technology
  • Refine and evolve learning programs based on learner feedback, training effectiveness, performance outcomes, and evolving healthcare and health technology trends
  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to leadership by tracking, analyzing, and reporting on training metrics and key performance indicators
  • Facilitate and lead a variety of training sessions and meetings, including specialized programs designed for specific consulting levels such as Senior Consultants and Managers
  • Evaluate and coach training instructors to improve the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of learning delivery
  • Oversee AArete's Learning Management System (Docebo), including content organization, development, maintenance, and optimization of learning materials
  • Manage the design and execution of all Learning & Development components of AArete's New Hire Onboarding program
  • Drive Learning & Development communications, including training announcements, session invitations, and program updates
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare policy, health technology innovation, and consulting best practices to ensure learning content remains relevant and practical
  • Partner with consulting leaders, practice heads, and subject matter experts to co-create learning content and ensure real-world applicability to client delivery
  • Act as an internal consultant to define learning solutions that support client delivery excellence and internal capability building
  • Coordinate with external vendors or academic partners when specialized expertise, training support, or scale is required
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 6-8 years of experience supporting learning and development, talent development, organizational development, or experience within a professional services or consulting environment
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Strong experience in healthcare and/or healthcare technology with an interest in innovation and emerging tools
  • Experience with blended and digital learning modalities, including LMS-based delivery (Docebo experience a plus)
  • Advanced literacy in artificial intelligence (AI), including familiarity with AI tools and their practical applications
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong project management, organizational skills, prioritization, and stakeholder management capabilities; task and detail-oriented
  • Ability to communicate effectively and confidently with all levels of the organization; ability to consult with senior stakeholders and influence without direct authority
  • Familiarity with healthcare policy, health technology innovation, and consulting best practices
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills across in-person and virtual environments
  • Willingness to engage in direct client interaction, including travel to client location
  • Applicants must be based in Chicago, IL, and flexible to work from our Chicago office as needed
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship

Preferred Requirements

  • Prior experience supporting learning programs within a consulting or professional services firm
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Learning & Development, or related field preferred
  • Experience facilitating training for consulting roles (Analyst through Manager levels)

The estimated base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $130,000. In addition to this base salary, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. This range is a part of a competitive, total compensation package together with our majority employer-paid benefits and incentive pay for eligible roles. Please note that this range is a guideline, and individual total compensation may vary due to numerous factors, including but not limited to experience level, certifications, and other relevant business considerations.
