About the Organization:

The Center for Adoption Support and Education (C.A.S.E.) is a national leader in mental health services for the adoption, foster, and kinship care community. We envision a world where every child and family connected to adoption, foster, and kinship care thrives, embracing our individual and collective diversity. We improve the well-being and permanence of children and their families by delivering adoption-competent mental health services, training a national network of professionals, and informing the field through research and advocacy. We work nationally to build the capacity of States, Tribes, and territories to create competent systems and service arrays and improve access to those services.

For over 25 years, C.A.S.E. has combined best practices and innovation to provide specialized individual and family therapy, psychiatric services and support groups, education, and training. We have become a local, national, and international resource for adoptive, kinship, and foster families and the professionals who support them. C.A.S.E. set out in 2021 on a new strategic direction to grow our clinical and training programs into our Academy for Elevating Clinical Practice in Permanency. It is an exciting time as we grow our evidence-based, adoption-competent clinical model and our accredited, award-winning training programs nationwide.

C.A.S.E has an annual budget of $14M and a staff of 70+ employees.

JOB SUMMARY:

C.A.S.E. is seeking a Director of IT who can both lead and execute. This is not a traditional help desk management position and not a purely strategic advisory role. The successful candidate will be a practical, hands-on technology leader who can evaluate existing roadmap and current-state work, refine priorities, and move the organization into disciplined execution.
As the Director of IT, you will serve as C.A.S.E.'s internal technology leader and builder. You will review the existing IT roadmap, current-state mapping, system inventories, vendor assessments, and previously identified operational issues; determine what still fits, what needs to be updated, and what should be prioritized; and then translate that work into a practical, budget-aligned IT program. This role requires someone who can address immediate operational needs while also building the systems, governance, workflows, training, and vendor structures needed to support C.A.S.E.'s long-term growth.
The Director of IT will lead priority work in CRM modernization, cybersecurity, IT governance, SharePoint and Microsoft 365 modernization, staff training, technology-enabled workflow improvement, and responsible use of vendors and lightweight software tools. The ideal candidate is a builder/operator who is strategic enough to refine the roadmap, practical enough to execute it, and disciplined enough to align technology investments with C.A.S.E.'s mission, budget, staff capacity, and organizational readiness.

SSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as C.A.S.E.'s accountable internal IT leader, combining strategic planning with hands-on execution to strengthen day-to-day operations and build a sustainable IT program over time.
  • Review existing IT roadmap materials, current-state mapping, system inventories, vendor assessments, and previously identified operational issues; validate what remains accurate and update priorities based on current needs, risks, budget, and capacity.
  • Translate the roadmap into a phased, budget-aligned implementation plan that balances urgent fixes, cybersecurity, governance, staff capacity, organizational readiness, and long-term modernization.
  • Lead CRM discovery, selection, implementation planning, integration, and adoption efforts in partnership with leadership, program, development, finance, clinical, and training teams.
  • Strengthen cybersecurity, access management, device management, data protection, business continuity, and disaster recovery practices in coordination with the MSP and organizational leadership.
  • Design and implement practical IT governance structures, including policies, decision-making processes, security review practices, prioritization methods, documentation standards, and accountability mechanisms.
  • Lead SharePoint and Microsoft 365 modernization, including information architecture, permissions, site design, document management practices, staff training, and change management.
  • Build lightweight IT service management practices and software-enabled workflows, including ticketing, request intake, onboarding and offboarding, asset tracking, knowledge base content, service expectations, and practical tools that can be developed with or through the MSP.
  • Manage technology vendors, consultants, software partners, and the MSP as part of a coherent IT program; clarify expectations, monitor performance, review costs, and ensure external support is aligned with C.A.S.E.'s priorities, budget, capacity, and implementation roadmap.
  • Develop staff-facing training, documentation, SOPs, and learning supports that improve digital fluency and promote consistent use of C.A.S.E.'s technology tools.
  • Communicate project updates, technology risks, resource needs, tradeoffs, and strategic recommendations clearly to stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
