Job description

This position will be located in Singapore, Japan or Australia or willing to travel into the region as needed/ required.
The Sr. Director of Business Development is responsible for sustainment/growth of existing customers, while also driving growth through new business development efforts in the SE Asia/INDOPACOM markets.
Essential Duties:
  • Oversee all phases of business development activities to ensure business and financial objectives are attained
  • Manage the development of new strategic business opportunities and relationships. May consult with management in pursuing business partnerships, alliances, and joint ventures that enhance the capabilities of the organization
  • Manage, expand and optimize HDT channel for the Asia and INDOPACOM regions
  • Assess potential business opportunities through activities such as market and economic analysis, monitoring competitive activity and identifying customer needs
  • Manage and influence the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract(s)
  • Consult with executive management to develop and implement current, annual and long-term schedule, quality, business, and financial objectives for the unit(s) and participate in the development of Group/Company objectives
  • Act as the primary contact for business development. May lead progress review sessions to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance and to disseminate information on a continuous basis to all pertinent parties concerning the fulfillment of project goals and objectives
  • Identify business development issues and provide leadership in developing solutions such as re-allocation of resources or modifying contract specifications
  • Ensure business leadership and excellence is maintained by managing and participating in the planning, attraction, selection, retention, and development of the required management, professional, and technical talent
  • Responsible for ensuring all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations are observed wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Responsible for ensuring work is accomplished in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices
  • Lead cross functional teams to drive new product development, program positioning, and / or proposal responses
  • Serve as subject matter expert for the region

Education/Experience/Other Skills & Abilities:
  • Location: Remote - Physically located in Singapore, Japan or Australia or willing to travel into the region as needed/ required
  • Bachelor's in Arts or Science or technical field required; Master's preferred
  • 10 plus yrs. of business development experience required; Knowledge of Asia- Pacific Defense, Emergency Support Markets
  • Prior US Military background with INDOPACOM Joint Operations experience is preferred
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and problem-solve
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Possesses quality orientation and high attention to detail

This position requires access to or use of export-controlled technical data or technology controlled by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
