Overview

The marketing director is a departmental leader who must be fluent in problem solving, process creation and internal sales.  This person must demonstrate strong self-management and self-leadership skills, anticipating the needs of stakeholders, proactively addressing gaps and shortfalls in budgets and continually evolving marketing practices in order to remain relevant, driving desired results. While the person in this role reports to the general manager, they are responsible for nurturing close relationships with other departments to ensure marketing strategies support needs and goals of all revenue producing areas.

In this role, the marketing director is wholly responsible for the development and execution of the  property-level marketing plan consisting of strategies and campaigns promoting on-brand messaging to customers through traditional, digital and social media channels.  The person in this role is responsible for building targeted campaigns and activating channels to drive consumer awareness and preference, increasing market share, and building broader asset and brand awareness.  This role focuses on showcasing property and venue programming, activation and promotions to hotel guests, local patrons and destination visitors. 

Qualifications
  • Five years' experience in hotel marketing, digital or related professional field.
  • Demonstrated competency managing outside agencies.
  • Demonstrated competency in copywriting.
  • Basic understanding of HTML.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competency in Adobe design programs.
  • Average or better knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
