Job Summary:

This working supervisor role provides daily leadership and management to a remote team of Global Sales Operations Representatives while maintaining hands-on involvement in supporting Field Application Scientists (FAS). The position requires strong day-to-day team management (approximately 60%) combined with direct operational support (approximately 40%), ensuring both effective team performance and practical understanding of frontline workflows. This role serves as the operational backbone connecting field sales teams, purchasing channels, and internal business units.

Essential Functions:

Daily Team Management & Leadership (60%)

  • Provide daily supervision, coaching, and performance management to 3-5 remote Global Sales Operations Representatives
  • Monitor daily team activities, response times, and service quality to ensure timely support of Field Application Scientists and international distributors.
  • Distribute and balance workload across the remote team based on capacity, complexity, and individual development needs.
  • Serve as immediate escalation point for urgent customer issues, field requests, and operational challenges throughout the day.
  • Make real-time decisions on prioritization and resource allocation to meet business demands.
  • Lead regular team meetings (weekly team and 1:1 meetings) via video conference to align priorities and share updates.
  • Drive continuous process improvement by identifying workflow inefficiencies and implementing practical solutions.
  • Author, update, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all sales operations processes.
  • Collaborate actively with CRM team, Customer Service, and Field Teams to maintain accurate CRM/ERP data.
  • Generate business and activity reports for Manager of Global Sales Operations as requested.
  • Foster interdepartmental cooperation and resolve cross-functional conflicts.
  • Partner closely with Manager of Global Sales Operations on strategic initiatives and operational planning

Direct Operational Support (40%)

  • Generate complex product quotations and business proposals for strategic accounts.
  • Coordinate requirements and logistics for high-value or complex orders.
  • Provide hands-on support during peak periods, team absences, or urgent situations.
  • Manage critical sample requests, inventory reviews, and new customer vetting.
  • Support promotion implementation and reporting.
  • Maintain customer activities in Salesforce and pull order and inventory data from ERP system.
  • Conduct special research projects and handle ad-hoc requests from leadership

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree
  • 5+ years in sales operations, customer support, or related coordination role within a B2B environment
  • 3-5 years of direct supervisory experience managing operational teams.
  • 3-5 years of experience with CRM systems (Salesforce required) and ERP platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience with remote collaboration tools (Teams, Zoom, Slack, or similar)
  • Strong database management and data accuracy practices
  • Ability to generate business reports and analyze operational metrics.
  • Proven success managing remote/distributed teams with demonstrated ability to build engagement and accountability without physical presence.
  • Experience supporting field sales teams.
  • Skilled at leveraging technology (video conferencing, collaboration tools, messaging platforms) to maintain team cohesion.
  • Bachelors degree (Scientific/Business focus preferred)
  • Based in San Diego, CA area for easy access to BioLegend headquarters.
  • Experience in life sciences, diagnostics, or biotechnology industry

The pay range for this full-time position is a salary $40.00 $50.00 USD an hour. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The pay offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.
