Senior Financial & Data Analyst (FinOps) roles at Ciena sit at the intersection of technology, finance, and data-driven decision-making. This position plays a pivotal role in running Information Technology (IT) like a business-bringing transparency, predictability, and accountability to IT and cloud investments. With direct exposure to senior leaders across IT, Finance, and Cloud teams, this role offers the opportunity to influence strategy, optimize spend at scale, and help Ciena continue to lead with both innovation and humanity.

How you will make an impact:
Establish financial transparency across run, grow, and transform IT spend through accurate forecasting, variance analysis, and standardized key performance indicators (KPIs)
Drive measurable cost optimization and value realization across applications, infrastructure, vendors, and cloud consumption
Own IT contract and renewal financial governance, enabling data-driven decisions to renew, renegotiate, optimize, or exit agreements
Partner with Finance Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Accounting to ensure strong accruals, capitalization practices, and audit readiness
Design executive-ready dashboards and analytics that serve as a single source of truth for IT and cloud financial performance
Advance Cloud Financial Operations (FinOps) accountability through tagging discipline, consumption insights, and commitment management
Improve financial and operational processes through standardization, automation, and KPI-driven maturity tracking

The must haves:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field
5+ years of experience in financial analytics, data analytics, or Financial Operations (FinOps) roles
Strong foundation in accounting principles, financial analysis, and variance management
Advanced experience working with large datasets using tools such as Excel, Structured Query Language (SQL), Power BI, or similar
Proven ability to translate complex metrics into clear insights for senior and executive stakeholders
Experience supporting Information Technology (IT) or technology-focused organizations
Hands-on cloud cost management or FinOps experience across providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)

Nice to haves:
Experience managing IT vendor contracts, renewals, and financial negotiations
Exposure to automation or data integration initiatives that reduce manual financial effort
Familiarity with cloud tagging strategies and chargeback or showback models
Experience building KPI frameworks to track process efficiency and operational maturity
Knowledge of enterprise financial systems or IT service management platforms

Pay Range
The annual pay range for this position, in the United States of America, is $89,300.00 - $142,700.00 USD..

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
