Sconza Candy Company, located in Oakdale, California, is a hand crafted quality candy manufacturing company which has been in business since 1939. The company specializes in co-manufacturing and co-packaging of chocolate and sugar panned items.

JOB TITLE: Senior Staff Accountant

JOB STATEMENT: The Senior Staff Accountant handles the day-to-day transactional accounting functions of the company, with a heavy emphasis on full-cycle Accounts Payable, general ledger maintenance, and regulatory compliance. This is a hands-on role requiring strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Essential functions:

  • Handle full-cycle Accounts Payable
  • Analyze invoice/expense reports and record entries for accounts and cost centers
  • Process vendor payments, resolve discrepancies, and ensure proper documentation
  • Reconcile vendor accounts and maintain historical records
  • Allocate credit card expenses and reconcile statements
  • Maintain the general ledger including account reconciliations
  • Process incoming check deposit
  • Manage the aging to ensure that payments are within terms, and cash flow is optimized
  • Track all deductions and agreed upon payments for trade shows, vend trade, samplings, etc
  • Works closely with CPA's during audits
  • Prepare and file sales tax and other regulatory filings
  • Maintain organized financial records and documentation
  • Other duties and administrative projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND CORE SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related business field
  • 3+ years directly related experience
  • Advanced MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook
  • Proficiency with automated accounting software and modern ERP systems
  • Proven analytical ability and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Self-directed, team player

Salary Range: $75,000-$85,000 annually. The final compensation offered within this range will depend on factors including the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
